At the same time, the "2020 Green Card List: Green Ranking of Chinese Trucks and Manufacturers" (hereinafter referred to as the "2020 Green Card List") was released at the same time, and the manufacturers and models of diesel and pure electric trucks with better comprehensive environmental performance such as emissions and fuel consumption were selected. Comprehensive evaluation of more than 3400 models

For the first time, new energy trucks were included

According to the "China Mobile Source Environmental Management Annual Report (2021)", in 2020, the nitrogen oxide and particulate matter emissions of diesel trucks in China will account for 78.5% and 90.6% of the total emissions of automobiles, and it is still a "big polluter" in the industry.

During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, Chinese cities are facing the task of reducing PM2.5 and ozone concentrations, and how to reduce pollutants from diesel trucks has become the focus of the industry. "As a non-profit list, the 2020 Green Card List uses official and public data to comprehensively evaluate the environmental performance of truck manufacturers and their car systems, aiming to provide a reference for the green development of the industry and help the whole industry chain save energy and reduce emissions." Fu Lu, director of the Asia Clean Air Center In China, said.

According to reports, the evaluation object of the "2020 Green Card List" is diesel trucks and pure electric trucks over 1.8 tons. Among them, diesel trucks include China V and China VI models, and the evaluation data comes from official or corporate public data, and combines data such as vehicle testing, OBD (vehicle self-diagnosis system), PEMS (vehicle exhaust gas detection) and other data for analysis. In addition, the "2020 Green Card List" also includes the product structure of truck manufacturing enterprises and the penalty records for environmental violations into the evaluation content.

The authority of the list is closely related to the number and scale of evaluation companies and models. At the scene of the release of the list, the reporter heard a gratifying figure - more than 3400 models. The "2020 Green Card List" not only comprehensively evaluated more than 3,000 diesel trucks from 38 truck manufacturing companies, but also included pure electric trucks for the first time, and comprehensively evaluated nearly 400 pure electric vehicle models from 68 companies.

In addition, the list is also a sensitive reflection of the trend of the truck market. The reporter checked the list and found that the "2020 Green Card List" divided the diesel truck list into 9 enterprise lists and 9 car series lists according to the total quality range, vehicle type and emission standards, and divided the pure electric truck list into 3 enterprise lists and 5 car series lists. The evaluation results divide the company and the car series into one star to five stars, of which five stars are the highest grade. The reporter saw that among them, Foton Motor, Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle, Geely Commercial Vehicle, etc. won the five stars of the enterprise list, and Foton Omar S3, Dongfeng Dolica D9, remote E6 and so on won the five stars of the car series list.

"Traditional truck manufacturers have accelerated the layout of new energy trucks, but they still need to accelerate technological innovation in reducing power consumption." Diesel trucks remain the focus of pollution control

The relevant indicators need to be strict

In 2022, the National Transportation Work Conference proposes to deepen the battle against pollution, and complete the elimination of diesel trucks operated by the national third and below emission standards in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and surrounding areas and the Fenwei Plain.

"In 2020, the smoke level and nitrogen oxide emissions of the National V vehicles that were inspected annually in Beijing were reduced by 62.1% and 12.1% compared with the industry average, which shows that the pollution control of diesel trucks in Beijing has been effective." Fu Lu introduced that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, diesel truck pollution control is still the focus of the industry, and it is necessary to continue to implement strict environmental protection supervision and increase the quality of diesel oil products and vehicle urea.

According to the 2020 Green Card List, compared with China V diesel trucks, the smoke and nitrogen oxide emissions of China VI diesel trucks decreased by 25.4% and 61.4%. Wu Ye, deputy dean of the Graduate School of Tsinghua University and professor of the School of environment, introduced that at present, the annual nitrogen oxide inspection limits for diesel vehicles (free acceleration method and loading deceleration method) (GB3847-2018) are no longer enough to screen high-emission trucks, and relevant departments should carry out feasibility assessments and implement stricter annual nitrogen oxide inspection limits for diesel vehicles in a timely manner b.

While the supervision of truck manufacturing emissions and energy consumption is becoming increasingly stringent, many local management departments have adopted "Internet +" to finely supervise vehicles, indicating that green development has become the consensus of the industry. "The pressure of strict environmental protection supervision will be directly directed to industry users and then transmitted to the market." Wang Jiguang, deputy secretary-general of the Motor Vehicle Pollution Prevention and Control Committee of the China Environmental Protection Industry Association, said.

New energy trucks are one of the important ways for the logistics industry to achieve the goal of "double carbon", and it is also a key part of the industry's high-quality development. Yan Dan, vice president of the Logistics Planning and Research Institute of the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, believes that with the increasingly strict environmental protection policies, logistics companies will gradually transform from "profit- to "green-oriented", and new energy trucks will become one of the important ways for logistics companies to create green value.

The promotion of new energy trucks has accelerated

Market penetration remains low

Statistics from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers show that in recent months, the market heat of new energy trucks has continued to rise, and the monthly sales record has been continuously refreshed.

The "2020 Green Card List" shows that with the maturity of new energy truck manufacturing technology and the improvement of infrastructure layout, the promotion and application of new energy trucks continue to accelerate, and sales are growing rapidly, but the overall market penetration rate is still not high.

According to the "2020 Green Card List", the penetration rate of new energy trucks in China in 2020 is only 0.78%, which is 0.16% lower than that in 2019. In addition, local policy differences have made the promotion of new energy trucks present a state of "ice and fire". For example, Beijing, Guangdong Shenzhen, Sichuan Chengdu and other places have driven the rapid growth of the new energy truck market through measures such as opening up the right of way, issuing operating subsidies, and improving infrastructure construction, while other cities without support policies, the promotion of new energy trucks is in a state of "applause but not seats".

Under the "double carbon" goal, the market size of new energy vehicles continues to expand, and the market acceptance continues to increase. Li Yang, executive secretary of the National Big Data Alliance for New Energy Vehicles, believes that while promoting the new energy of vehicles, truck manufacturing enterprises should reduce carbon emissions in manufacturing, transportation and other links, and actively guide industry users to buy new energy trucks.

"Diesel truck exhaust is recognized by the World Health Organization as a carcinogen, high-emission trucks mean higher health risks, and green trucks are more related to the well-being of truck drivers."
