Yanghe Daqu was produced in Yanghe Town (present-day Yanghe Town, Suqian City) in Siyang County, Jiangsu Province. Yanghe Town has long been a commercial market town in history. According to historical records, there were as many as 15 winemaking workshops in the town in the Ming Dynasty, and by the end of the Ming Dynasty and the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, the Daqu wine brewed here had become famous throughout the country.
In the late Republic of China, the winemaking industry in Yanghe Town was withering away due to war, and after the founding of New China, only a few small wineries such as Yejia Trough Fang and Luojia Trough Fang barely maintained production.
In 1949, on the basis of two private trough mills such as the original Baitan Trough In Yanghe Town, it was built to restore the production of Yanghe Daqu. In 1953, the distillery was expanded for the first time, and since 1980, a large-scale brewing industry group has gradually formed around Yanghe Town. In 1987, 10 branches were developed. At this stage, Dunhuang Brand Yanghe Daqu (Puqu Dunhuang) was gradually handed over to the branch for production.
In 1949, Yanghe Distillery was called "Yanghe Trough Fang, Third Branch of Huaiyin Trading Company", and later renamed "Northern Jiangsu Huaiyin District Liquor Monopoly Business Company Distillery". In 1951, it was renamed "Yanghe Distillery of The Monopoly Company of the Northern Jiangsu Bureau", in 1953, it was changed to "Local State-owned Siyang County Yanghe Distillery", in 1986 it was changed to "Jiangsu Yanghe Distillery", and in 1997, it was restructured into a wholly state-owned company and established "Jiangsu Yanghe Group Co., Ltd."
In December 2002, Yanghe Group promoted the establishment of Yanghe Shares, which was listed in 2009, in 2010, Yanghe acquired Shuanggou, and in 2011, it increased the acquisition of Shuanggou wholly. Yanghe co., LTD. owns two major Chinese liquor brands, Yanghe and Shuanggou.
