Just this past year, from the beginning of the year was whitewashed by the rice circle culture as a "large-scale star chasing scene" as the beginning, to the decline in the yield in the middle of the year, the top fund managers scrambled to apologize, until the end of the third quarter, with the return of the "drinking and taking medicine" market, many top fund managers the net value of the fund has rebounded, and the nervous mood of the basic people has been calmed.
How many people really made money last year? A survey report for fund investors shows that as of the end of last year, 53% of the basic people had a negative yield, 35% of the basic people had a yield of less than 10%, 9% of the basic people yielded between 10% and 30%, and only 2% of the basic people had a yield of more than 30%.
Throughout the year, the phenomenon that fund companies make money and do not make money still exists. Why?

Last year, the number of new funds issued by the public offering and the scale of dividends of the public fund hit a record high, and the scale of equity ETF products expanded rapidly, achieving a milestone leap forward development of such products.
As of the end of last year, 1898 new funds were established in 2021, exceeding 1378 in the whole of 2020, a record high. The scale of dividends from public funds in the whole market reached 297.143 billion yuan, which also hit a record high. Zhang Xueyong, a professor at the School of Finance of the Central University of Finance and Economics and director of the China Asset Management Research Center, said that this reflects the three major development trends of China's public fund market.
"First, public funds are gradually becoming larger, and we are seeing an increasing scale. Second, the market development of public funds has also been continuously standardized. Third, the investment strategy or investment method of public funds is gradually becoming technical. ”
It is worth noting that while the scale of the fund is growing rapidly, equity funds have continued to develop.
As of the end of November last year, the size of equity funds was 8.7 trillion yuan, accounting for 35.4% of the total size of public funds from 17.6% at the beginning of 2019. Among them, the scale of equity ETFs has expanded rapidly, as of the end of last year, there are 575 equity ETFs in the whole market, with a total management scale of 1.06 trillion yuan, a surge of 287 billion yuan over the scale of 2020, setting a new high in the calendar year, and achieving a milestone leap forward development of such products.
Why are equity ETFs popular? Dong Dengxin, director of the Institute of Financial Securities of Wuhan University of Science and Technology, said:
"It first has the advantage of volume and scale, which can be more stable in the portfolio and can be taken into account in the choice of investment targets." The scale advantage brought about by its size advantage allows it to have a very good balance in the portfolio, so that it can generate very stable long-term returns, which is a very important reason for the popularity of equity ETF products. On the other hand, equity ETF products can cater to institutional investors, including the management needs of capital positions or long-term investment needs, and can also meet the value investment needs of retail investors. ”
Looking forward to 2022, a new voyage of China's public fund market has begun.
Zhang Xueyong predicts that the market of the fund will continue the development trend in 2021, the indexation of public funds will continue to deepen, and the ETF foundation will have greater development.
Dong Dengxin pointed out that the scale and proportion of China's equity ETFs are still in the initial stage of development, there is still a lot of room for development, the development prospects of the domestic ETF market are still broad, and fund companies should make great efforts and spend great efforts in product research and development and business innovation of equity funds in the future.
"In 2022, our public funds should increase the development of equity funds on the one hand, and on the other hand, we can take equity ETFs as a cornerstone for us and make more efforts in this regard."
So, how to avoid the phenomenon that fund companies make money and the basic people do not make money in 2022?
Three mainstream equity large fund companies recently jointly released a "Public Equity Fund Investor Profit Insight Report", the report data shows that the longer the position time, the higher the average yield level of investors, of which 3 months of holding time can be said to be a "threshold". Among them, when the position holding time is less than 3 months, the average yield is negative, and the proportion of profitable customers is only 39.10%; when it is more than 3 months, the proportion of profitable customers has increased significantly to 63.72%, and the average yield has also turned from negative to positive. When the position holding time continues to increase from 3 months, with the accumulation of time, the average yield of customers has become more and more impressive, and the proportion of customer profits has also shown a steady upward trend.
Therefore, the fund company gave a solution: do not chase the rise and kill the fall, long-term positions.
Another "2021 Fund Manager Thousand Survey Report" shows that 75% of equity fund managers believe that the A-share market will achieve positive returns this year, and 60% of fund managers expect the return range to be 0 to 10%. Among them, the performance of the technology and manufacturing industries is the most anticipated.
In this regard, the fund manager suggested that investors should appropriately "reduce income expectations", "establish a medium- and long-term holding mentality", "after reaching the investment target, you can take profits appropriately", "balanced allocation and fixed investment", etc.
