Unveiling the Secret of the Martyr Forest of Xiazhuang - Transferring a platoon of fighters to cover the troops and the masses died heroically

"In addition to looking for my grandfather's grave, my father always wanted to find out which battle my grandfather died in." Nanyue, nanyue's grandson, once mentioned this wish.

The reporter came here for 5 consecutive times and once noticed a martyr's tablet in the Xiazhuang Martyrs' Shrine - Gao Zhenmin (should be Gao Zhenmin), but did not follow this clue to continue to explore. Recently, an old Chinese medicine doctor in Nanxing Village, Boshan Town, Boshan District, told the famous Battle of Taohuayu, which mentioned a platoon leader surnamed Nan, and also made it clear that Xu Wenhua Company Commander had fought in this area in the past...

With the deepening of the investigation, a glorious history has been revealed: many martyrs in the Xiazhuang Martyrs' Shrine participated in the famous Battle of Taohuayu (also known as the Battle of Taohualing) before their deaths.

Two "Southern Martyrs" died in Xiazhuang?

On November 20, the reporter received a phone call from a reader who believed that the Nanfangyu martyrs were not Nanfangyu of Daozhuang Village, but someone else.

According to the records of the Shandong Heroic Martyrs Network, Nanfang Yu served as a platoon leader in the ninth company of the third battalion of the second regiment of the first brigade of the Luzhong Military Region before his death, and died in Xiazhuang, Laiwu County in 1941. However, there is also a martyr named Nanfang on the Heroic Martyrs Network, which is exactly the same as the name engraved on the tombstone of the Martyrs of Xiazhuang. ”

Suddenly there were two "southern yu"? The southern domain found so far, is not the grandfather of South Vietnam, Nanfang Yu?

The reporter saw that the Shandong Heroic Martyrs noted on the Internet that this southern martyr was also buried in the Boshan Xiazhuang Martyrs' Shrine, but his sacrifice site was in Boshan Xishi Village, and the sacrifice time was 1950.

"There is a problem with this information entry." Nanyue, Nanyue's grandson, told reporters that he had noticed this information on the Shandong Yinglie Network, including the information on the China Yinglie Network.

It can be judged from this that this information is either someone else or an error in the entry. Because in the Xiazhuang Martyrs Forest, there is a clear time for the erection of the monument on the tombstone of the martyrs in the southern region" "194481", which completely excludes the possibility of sacrifice in 1950. Because it is impossible to erect a monument here 6 years in advance.

Although there was no problem, how did Nan Nanyu sacrifice in the end? This mystery still haunts the Nan family. On November 21, the reporter once again embarked on a journey to find answers.

The local old Chinese medicine doctor pointed out the mizu

"The reason why I found the tomb of the martyr in Nanfangyu is related to an old Chinese medicine doctor in Nanxing Village." On November 21, Geng Yushen, the niece and son-in-law of the Southern Yu Martyr, told reporters that he was unwell, and when he first found the tombstone of the Southern Yu Martyr, it was precisely because he passed by Nanxing Village in Boshan Town and saw a Chinese medicine clinic on the side of the road, and mistakenly hit and found the 63-year-old old Chinese medicine doctor Ren Jitong.

After geng Yushen told Ren Jitong about his physical condition, he said that he was very interested in the local red culture.

Ren Jitong told reporters that he moved from his hometown of Xiazhuang Village to the second aunt's house in Nanxing Village at the age of 5. When he returned to Xiazhuang Village, he often listened to the old people talk about the past. He once participated in the compilation of local historical materials in Boshan and had a comprehensive grasp of some local historical materials.

According to Ren Jitong, before the liberation, there were about 500 villagers in Xiazhuang Village who joined the army, and more than 100 people later became cadres at or above the deputy county level. "There are 45 martyrs in our village, and there has not been a single case of defection to the enemy or the party."

"In Xiazhuang Village Xifeng Mountain (Yunxing Mountain), our army once had a platoon in this place all heroic sacrifices. At that time, in order to cover the transfer of large troops and the masses, this platoon took the initiative to lead the enemy to Taohuayu, Xifeng Mountain, Xiazhuang Village, where it was surrounded by more than 3,000 Japanese puppet troops. Ren Jitong told reporters that when he heard that Geng Yushen was interested in red culture, he instructed him to go to this place to see it.

"At the foot of Xifeng Mountain, there is a martyrs' shrine, and a few hundred meters south from the martyrs' shrine is what I call the martyrs' forest."

"After learning the news that Geng Yushen found the Southern Yu Martyrs, I was very excited and checked the materials many times in the past few days. It occurred to me that one of the fighters who had fought in that battle was a man from the village of Xiazhuang. He once mentioned to me that the platoon led by the commander of the gao camp was surnamed Nan. Those who fought in this area at that time were indeed Xu Wenhua's company commander. Ren Jitong told reporters.

Unveiling the Secret of the Martyr Forest of Xiazhuang - Transferring a platoon of fighters to cover the troops and the masses died heroically

Looking at the Yunxing Mountain, in the distance is the Xiazhuang Martyrs Forest (at the red circle).??

The villagers recall the history of that year

Zhangyu Dading is in the middle of Boshan Town, 579 meters above sea level, south of Yunxing Mountain, Xiazhuang people call it Taohuayu Peak, and its northeast is Taohuayu in the population of Xiazhuang. In 1942, the famous Battle of Taohuayu took place here.

At that time, Gao Zhenmin, commander of the Bolai Independent Battalion, led his troops to fight guerrillas in the Taiyi Mountains. On November 10, the troops reached Miaoziling (two kilometers south of Zhangyu Dading) west of Xiazhuang Village, and intelligence said that the Japanese puppet army had laid a pocket formation against the independent battalion. In order to cover the four detachments of the Eighth Route Army and the transfer of the masses, the instructor Yan Facang led two platoons to cover, and Gao Zhenmin led a platoon north to insert Peach Blossom Yu to attract the enemy. Ren Jitong told reporters that an elder named Ren Chunsan in his own family had told him many times about the experience of this battle before.

"Our army preemptively occupied the highlands tens of meters ahead, and the Japanese puppet army mistakenly thought that it was the main force of our army to compete for the highlands, and the two sides launched a fierce battle, from noon to five o'clock in the afternoon, Taohuayu turned into a sea of fire. Commander Gao led the soldiers to use the terrain to skillfully attack the enemy in the Shuanggudui area. Ren Chunsan was the personal guard of the commander of the Gao battalion, and they ran out of bullets and threw away the grenades. After paying a heavy price, the enemy finally rushed up. Commander Gao aimed the last bullet at himself..."

Ren Jitong said that he remembered the old man saying that at that time, in addition to Yan Facang's instructor, there was also Xu Wenhua' company commander, but the time was too long to be sure.

The reporter consulted the information and learned that according to the "Boshan District Civil Affairs Chronicle" printed by the Boshan District Civil Affairs Office in 1988, on November 10, 1942, Gao Zhenmin died heroically in the battle of Taohuayu in Xiazhuang, Boshan County, at the age of 25. Gao Zhenmin, also known as Gao Shenmin and Gao Xinwei, is a native of Xiyucheng Village, a town in the Boshan region.

Ren Jitong (right) tells Geng Yushen about the fierce battle that took place at Taohuayu in 1942.

That history, though brilliant, is vague

Ren Jitong recalled that Ren Chunsan had told him that the battle was very fierce, and some warriors, in order not to be captured by the enemy, jumped off the cliff heroically, and Ren Chunsan was one of them.

At that time, they jumped on the double solid pile on the top of Peach Blossom Yu, and Ren Chunsan jumped off the cliff and survived. After the war, because he had always been an ordinary soldier, he continued to return to xiazhuang to farm. ”

"There is a peach blossom yu in Xiazhuang Village, and this peach blossom yu is called the top of the peach blossom yu, and there is a 'double solid pile' on it. At that time, there was an instructor Yan Facang who participated in the battle. In order to cover the four detachments of the Eighth Route Army and the transfer of the masses, Gao Zhenmin led a platoon north of Taohuayu to attract the enemy, and Yan Facang led two platoons to cover. On November 21, Ren Yonggu, a villager in Xiazhuang Village, told reporters that he also knew that Ren Chunsan had participated in the battle. Ren Chunsan is an old eighth road who worked in the Boshan County Brigade.

Ren Yonggu provided a detail that the local villagers knew. After the battle, the villagers of Xiazhuang Village went to the battlefield to claim the bodies of their families. After Ren Chunsan's sister-in-law found the body of "Ren Chunsan", she found that the socks were not the pair that she made herself, and only then did she know that Ren Chunsan had not sacrificed, and that this corpse was the head of the gao zhen camp.

According to information provided by Nanyue, Nanfangyu died in 1941, which is inconsistent with the time of the Battle of Taohuayu, but the specific time of Nanfangyu's sacrifice is not clear to the Nanjia family.

Although the history that occurred more than 70 years ago is brilliant, there are still some details that are relatively vague, not only the time and place are many inaccuracies, but the names of the martyrs are often ambiguous. In order to make this history clearer and to let every martyr rest in peace, there is still a lot of work we need to do...
