Princess Changping and Princess Rongchang both experienced social changes in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, and both lived until after the Qing army entered the customs, Princess Changping died in 1646 and Princess Rongchang died in 1647.

But if you talk about the generations, Princess Rongchang is the daughter of Emperor Mingshenzong, that is, the Wanli Emperor, and she is the same generation as Mingguangzong, who is one generation older than Zhu Youxiao and Zhu Youjian. Princess Changping was the daughter of the Chongzhen Emperor Zhu Youjian, and if you look at it according to the generational division, Princess Rongchang is the grandmother of Princess Changping.
1. Princess Rongchang
Princess Rongchang was born in the ninth year of the Wanli Calendar, and at this time, the Ming Dynasty was undergoing Zhang Juzheng's reforms, and the whole country was thriving, almost with the momentum of ZTE. During the Jiajing period, the Wokou on the southeast coast were quelled, and Li Chengliang and Qi Jiguang were stationed in the north, and they also received rare peace. It can be said that Princess Rongchang was born with a golden key.
The Ming Dynasty was about to develop in a good direction, but Zhang Juzheng fell ill and died in the tenth year of the Wanli Calendar. After Zhang Juzheng's death, he was liquidated, and as a close confidant of Zhang Juzheng, Qi Jiguang was also transferred to Guangzhou as the governor. This political storm caused a cascading reaction, and the imperial court began to surge undercurrents. But for Princess Rongchang, who was still in her infancy, her childhood was still happy.
In the twenty-fourth year of the Wanli Calendar, this year, Princess Rongchang was 15 years old and had reached the age of marriage, and the emperor chose a good husband for her, his name was Yang Chunyuan.
This good son-in-law in the eyes of the Wanli Emperor, in the eyes of Princess Rongchang, is not a good langjun, after the two young people get married, they always quarrel over a small matter, such a quarrel, from another side, also proves that Princess Rongchang was spoiled in childhood.
Such a delicate princess, it is normal to lose some temper. But two years after they got married, that is, in the twenty-sixth year of the Wanli calendar, the couple's face collapsed, and Princess Rongchang returned to her mother's house (palace), which scared Yang Chunyuan half to death. Even frightened to the point of running away.
The Wanli Emperor originally did not want to take care of the affairs of the two small mouths, but this matter was too big to be ignored, so he asked Yang Chunyuan to study the etiquette for a year and asked him not to mess with the princess.
The Wanli Emperor only did his duty as a father, and although Wanli Gui was the emperor, he could not interfere too much in the affairs between the husband and wife. Later, there are not many records in history of the life between these two couples. I don't know how the couple lived after this incident. It is only known that she gave birth to five sons for the Yang family.
It can be seen that etiquette education has made Yang Chunyuan honest a lot, and although the couple cannot say that they respect each other as guests, their lives can at least get by.
Yang Chunyuan died in the forty-fourth year of the Wanli Calendar, the year in which the Later Jin Dynasty was established. Princess Rongchang was only thirty-five years old, after which, without remarrying, she was widowed for thirty years and then died.
Is Princess Rongchang happy in the end? In fact, it is difficult to say, it is normal for two people to quarrel, at that time, Princess Rongchang was only fifteen years old, what could the little girl know? But Princess Rongchang was widowed at the age of thirty-five, and it is difficult to say that she was happy.
2. Princess Changping
Compared with Princess Rongchang, Princess Changping was much more miserable. Princess Rongchang had a happy childhood, after marriage, although the two sons were a little contradictory, but overall it was not bad, the only fly in the ointment was the loneliness and loneliness of thirty years of widowhood.
Princess Changping's childhood was not good, she was born in the second year of Chongzhen, at this time the Ming Empire, has been in the twilight of the western mountains, the country is in trouble with internal and external troubles, Chongzhen is notoriously frugal, and still has to wear patched clothes, eat coarse tea and light rice, not to mention his children, it is obvious that Princess Changping's childhood is not as rich as Princess Rongchang.
When Princess Changping died, she was only 17 years old. According to historical records, she was cut off by her father's left arm, and after the Qing army entered the customs, they married her to Zhou Shixian, and within a year, Princess Changping died. A flower, before it has bloomed, has withered, how can this not be lamented.
Everyone has their own sadness or happiness, this is a complete life, therefore, I think, Princess Changping is more tragic, because Princess Rongchang has experienced a lot before, this experience has bittersweet and sweet, but in the end it is life. Princess Changping, on the other hand, did not get anything and said goodbye to the world.
