The smooth sailing of his career brought many temptations to Hezhen, and various officials began to give him gifts.
At the beginning, He Yan did not dare to accept these gifts, but after many times he accepted these gifts, and later he took the initiative to ask for gifts, and accumulated a lot of money by virtue of corruption, which made He Yan feel uneasy in his heart, but because the Qianlong Emperor was still there, he was not particularly worried about this.
Until 1794, the Qianlong Emperor at the banquet of his 83rd birthday, suddenly wrote a "Zen" character with great interest, the glyph looked very strange, and Qianlong looked at the words he had written and laughed with great satisfaction.
