Mr. Lu Xun has deep roots with Shanghai. On October 3, 1927, Lu Xun arrived in Shanghai with his wife Xu Guangping and has since settled in Shanghai. On October 19, 1936, due to ineffective treatment for lung disease, he died in the Apartment No. 9 Xincun in Mainland Shanghai. This period in Shanghai was the most brilliant period of Lu Xun's literary creation, and he published a unique novel "New Compilation of Stories". In addition, Lu Xun also founded many magazines, created a number of miscellaneous collections and carried out a large number of translations. Lu Xun's ideas and works are widely known as cultural wealth, and his footprints in Shanghai are still clear. See the report of the Red Voice of the Oriental Network for details.

More than 80 years ago, this was a place where cultural people gathered, and Lu Xun's first residence in Shanghai was in Jingyunli, Lane 35, Hengbang Road, where he also lived for two years and seven months. Located on the Chinese side of the "cross-border road", this lane is a new house that has just been built, but there are no sanitary facilities and no gas. The word "outpost" was inscribed by Lu Xun on a wooden board and finally printed in the blank space of the book

In 1927, Lu Xun became acquainted with Uchiyama and became close friends when he was shopping at the Neishan Bookstore. Uchiyama Bookstore has attracted many Chinese and foreign cultural figures and become a bridge for cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.

Lu Xun is not only a regular visitor to the Uchiyama Bookstore Literary and Art Talk, meeting with Chinese and Japanese cultural people, but also cooperating with Uchiyama to hold the "World Printmaking Exhibition", "Modern Writers Woodcut Exhibition", "Russian and French Book Illustration Exhibition", etc., to promote the development of China's emerging woodcut movement. At the same time, he and Uchiyama held a summer woodcut workshop in Shanghai, which was the first modern woodcut technique workshop in China.

Uchiyama Bookstore established extensive contacts with Lu Xun and other left-wing cultural figures, and promoted the development of left-wing cultural movements by selling left-wing progressive books and holding literary and artistic "rambling meetings". After Uchiyama's introduction, Lu Xun met japanese researcher Masuda Shigeru, writer Haruo Sato, Toshiichi Yokomitsu, Mitsuharu Kaneko, and Shigehiko Yamamoto, president of the Reform Society, in Hongkou, promoting Sino-Japanese cultural exchanges. In particular, the meeting with Masahiko Yamamoto led to Lu Xun's direct cooperation with the Reform Society. Lu Xun introduced some modern Chinese literary works to Japan and wrote a small introduction to "Outstanding Chinese Novels". In June 1936, "Transformation" opened a column entitled "Outstanding Chinese Novels" and successively published works by young Chinese writers recommended by Lu Xun. The first novel to be published was Xiao Jun's novel Sheep. In 1937, the society published the Complete Works of Great Lu Xun.

Walking to the junction of North Sichuan Road and Duolun Road, within a few steps, I saw the metal nameplate and plaque of the ruins of the Gongzhe Cafe on the wall. Unfortunately, the plaque is still there, but it cannot lead to the era in which Lu Xun lived. The Café has been transformed into an "antique shop" that can be seen everywhere on Doron Road, awkwardly surviving in the gap between the old and the new. Friends who come to step on the spot can only take a photo with this plaque (there is nowhere to be found in the old books and bookstores in the museum).

In early 1931, Smedley wanted to leave China for health reasons. Before leaving Shanghai, Lu Xun and several young writers visited Shi's apartment on Kade Road (now Shimen 2nd Road) and talked freely for one night. Today, through the Xiwang Garden Lane Museum located in the lane, you can learn about the life of old Shanghai.

After 1949, it was renamed the Fourth People's Hospital, which was a district second-class general hospital (from 2000 to 2017, it was a branch of the First People's Hospital, and its original name was the second title).
