"Contrary to what a lot of people think, I don't think there's a shame in working at sea, it's just a job, no different from anyone else. Not only that, but I would also like to say that the sea is really beautiful and that someone has to work here, and this job has to be respected like any other job. ”

"I've been here since I was a kid, my father has a boat, I often come to sea with him, I love this life. My father would find time or vacations whenever he had time. I used to know that my career would end one day and that I should find a new direction in my life: this fishing boat is what gives me happiness, and this is the life I want to live. ”

Coentran, who currently owns three fishing boats, said:

"At the age of 40 I wanted to own 10 fishing boats and there was still a long way to go, but I was confident in myself in life. I was born here, my father owned a fishing boat, I used to go to sea with my father a lot, I like this. I'll come to the boat when I have time. The sea is part of my life, I know that football career will come to an end one day, I should look for a new direction in my new life, fishing boats are my happy home, this is the life I want. ”

The former Portuguese international was born on 11 March 1988 in a small fishing town called Vila do Conde, 30 kilometres north of Porto, to a fisherman's father. So, Coentrand grew up with two major hobbies: football and fishing.
