Phoenix Daffodil is also known as Guangdong Daffodil and Raoping Daffodil. Sexual lines, small tree type, large leaves, early seeds, diploid.
It is native to Fenghuangshan, Chao'an County, Guangdong Province. It is said to have been planted during the Southern Song Dynasty. There are more than 2,000 trees that are more than 200 years old. It is mainly distributed in Chao'an, Fengshun, Raoping, Jiaoling, Pingyuan and other places in Guangdong. After the 1950s, it was planted on a large scale in Guangdong Province. There are a small number of introduced species in Hainan, Guangxi, Hunan, Jiangxi, Zhejiang and other provinces. In 1985, this variety was recognized as a national variety by the National Crop Variety Approval Committee, numbered gs13017-1985

The plant is tall and upright, with sparse branches and slightly sloping or horizontal leaves. The leaves are oblong or oval, green and shiny, the leaf surface is flat or slightly raised, the leaf body is folded or flat, the leaf margin is flat or microwaved, the leaf tip is tapering, the leaf teeth are blunt and shallow, and the leaf texture is thick and brittle. The buds and leaves are yellowish-green in color and rarely hairy. One bud has three leaves, and a hundred buds weigh 86.2 g. The corolla is 3.8cm in diameter, with 5 to 7 petals, medium hairiness in the ovary, and 3 lobes in the flower column. The seeds are 1.4 cm in diameter and weigh 103.6 g in 100 seeds.
The buds and leaves are highly fertile. The end of March to the beginning of April is the peak period for a bud and three leaves. High output, up to 400kg㎡per 667 pieces. A dry sample of one bud and two leaves of spring tea contains about 3.2% amino acids, 24.3% tea polyphenols, 12.9% total catechins and 4.1% caffeine. Suitable for making oolong tea and black tea. Oolong tea is divided into three grades: Shan Chong, Lang Cai and Daffodil. The tea leaves have a strong aroma, a mellow taste, and a golden soup color; black tea has a strong aroma, ruddy color, and is "cloudy after cold". Strong cold resistance. Strong robustness.
