From July 5 to 7, Jin Liping, chief scientist of the national potato industry technology system, and many domestic potato experts and scholars gathered in Xuanwei to carry out scientific and technological training in the potato industry and to consult the development of the potato industry in Xuanwei and the southwest region.

Experts and scholars observed the research and development of new potato varieties, field production and processing transformation in Xuanwei City, exchanged views with relevant staff on the development of the whole potato industry chain such as potato seed industry research and development, planting, disease prevention and control, and deep processing, and then discussed and gave special lectures on related scientific research topics such as the green development of the potato industry.

More than 120 people, including directors of agricultural extension centers, major technical backbones and large growers in various counties (cities and districts) in Qujing City, and directors of comprehensive agricultural service centers, technical backbones and large growers in 27 townships (towns, streets) of the main potato producing areas in Xuanwei City, participated in the exchange and study.

During the period, Xuanwei City, the Institute of Vegetables and Flowers of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and the Institute of Economic Crops of the Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences held a signing ceremony for the joint research and breeding of potato varieties in Xuanwei City, in order to accelerate the selection, promotion and transformation of new potato varieties, and promote the "National Potato Breeding Base County Construction" project to go deeper and more solid, and serve the high-quality development of agriculture.
