On January 5, Wang Gang, vice president of Alibaba and head of the autonomous driving laboratory of Alibaba Damo Academy, recently left his job.

Ali said that he thanked Wang Gang for his contribution to the unmanned driving technology of Dharma Academy and blessed Wang Gang.

According to public information, Wang Gang came to the Internet from academia in 2017, joined Alibaba, and successively served as the chief scientist of the artificial intelligence laboratory, the head of the autonomous driving laboratory of the Damo Academy, the vice president of Alibaba Group, and the head of the autonomous driving laboratory of the DAMO Academy.

In July 2017, Wang Gang led the team to create an artificial intelligence consumer product "Tmall Genie X1", which became a blockbuster with shipments exceeding one million in only 4 months. In the same year, Wang Gang took the initiative to ask Miao to serve as the head of the autonomous driving laboratory of Ali Damo Academy. After spending three years, the first mass production logistics robot "Little Wild Donkey" was launched in 2020.

After leaving his job, Wang Gang chose to start a business in the field of cleaning robots and has obtained financing so far.
