CES2022: AGC brings automotive AR windshield display

Traditional displays can be distracting. The augmented reality windshield adds active safety by displaying information where it should appear.

Since all the information is in view – the technology allows you to focus on the road: "We believe that the augmented reality windshield will be the next human-machine interface, and in the future, the screen will completely disappear from the dashboard." The augmented reality windshield interface brings a transparent, broader and safer interface that unlocks the full potential of augmented reality into the car," said Romain DUFLOT, CEO of EyeLights.

"Many players struggle to bring sophisticated new HUD(*) technology to the windshield, however, they tend to overlook the numerous strict optical restrictions on the windshield. AGC and EyeLights share a common vision: bringing practical disruptive technology to life, and we are now ready to mass-produce and improve the driving experience," said Patrick Ayoub, Head of Automotive Sensors and Vision at AGC's R&D Division.
