This newly designed popular "perfect laptop" comes with New Features like Intel's new Alder Lake processor as well as a new tactile glass touchpad. Dell eliminated xperon's classic two-tone carbon interior for a simpler design while still retaining some of the elements that make the XPS 13 stand out, and the new design choice was tonal. It matches the aluminium exterior to the aluminium interior and is available in platinum or graphite.

Other significant changes to the XPS 13 include the configuration inside the notebook, and the XPS 13 Plus is powered by the 28-watt Intel Alder Lake mobile processor. This includes the Core i5-1240P, Core i7-1260P, Core i7-1270P, and Core i7-1280P. These processors have 12, 12, 12, and 14 cores. Memory options include 8GB, 16GB or 32GB, and storage is available in 256GB, 512GB, 1TB or 2TB. The 28-watt processor is a huge leap forward from the previous XPS 13 laptop, which has a maximum power of 15 watts.

Although the XPS is now more powerful, it is the same size as before, thanks mainly to the enlarged dual fans, which increase the airflow by 55%. Another key change that allows for this change is a new line of capacitive touch functionality. This eliminates the physical keys, resulting in a more touch-like experience.

The new glass touchpad and keyboard are the biggest parts of the change, and the trackpad is now seamlessly integrated into the laptop's C-case. Similar to SurfaceLaptop Studio, it uses haptic technology to provide targeted, reactive feedback. As for the keyboard, the keycaps are now larger and the key travel is deeper.

This is relatively unchanged from the XPS 13's signature full-screen, with a display available with a 4KUHD+ touchscreen, 3.5KOLED option, an FHD+ touchscreen, and a standard FHD option.

The XPS 13 Plus has a total of four speakers, two speakers that fire upwards under the keyboard, and two on the base. I/O ports and peripherals including 2 Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, a 720p Windows Hello webcam and a Windows Hello fingerprint reader are also standard, this year's model has no headphone jack and does not include a MicroSD card extension, but Dell comes standard with a USB-C to USB-A 3.0 adapter in the box.

To pair with the new XPS in an office environment, Dell also introduced the UltraSharp 32 4K video conferencing monitor. The display features an UltraSharp 4K webcam, echo cancellation dual array microphones, and 14W speakers. It's certified by Microsoft Teams and allows you to easily turn on and off, mute, and disable the camera through touch controls on the bottom bezel. Dell uses IPS black technology for higher grayscale color accuracy at low brightness and wider viewing angles.
