Intel released the Alder Lake-S series on the desktop version of the 12th generation Core processor at the end of 2021, thanks to the overall improvement of the process process, microarchitecture design, and platform as a whole, and has great performance improvements in multiple dimensions such as gaming and content creation.
The alder Lake-S debuted top-of-the-line model, the Core i9-12900K, with 8 P-Cores and 8 E-Cores, with a single-core turbo of 5.2GHz and a full-core turbo of 4.9GH, and an E-Core of 3.7GHz.
However, according to the latest news, the Core i9-12900K is obviously not the top product of the 12th generation Core processor desktop version of the Alder Lake-S family, and Intel has also prepared a higher-positioned Core i9-12900KS special edition.
Recently, Intel officially released a screenshot, the processor in the picture has 16 cores, obviously should be the 12th generation Core Alder Lake-S, the biggest highlight is the frequency part: one of the P-Core highest frequency to 5.5GHz, the other 7 P-Cores also maintained at 5.2GHz, the remaining 8 E-Cores are running at 4.0GHz. Obviously, this group of frequencies is higher than the Core i9-12900K, P-Core single-core, P-Core full-core, E-Core full-core are all 0.3GHz higher. Unsurprisingly, this processor should be the Core i9-12900KS that will be released in the future.

At CES 2022, AMD will release the Zen 3 architecture Ryzen desktop processor with 3D V-Cache technology to improve gaming performance. Intel will continue to improve the 12th generation Core Alder Lake product line, in addition to the Core i9-12900KS, will also release mobile versions for game books, thin and light books, and 65W TDP desktop products that are positioned as mainstream.
Editor's comments: The existing Core i9-12900K is already the strongest game processor, and it is believed that the Core i9-12900KS that further increases the frequency can further improve the game performance. Of course, the new Zen 3 products equipped with 3D vertical cache (3D V-Cache) technology should not be underestimated, and the competition in the processor market in 2022 will be fierce.
