"I've been working in the digital economy of the Menao and North Africa region for the past two decades, and I've seen firsthand how it's undergone some revolutionary changes. The digitization of the global economy is at the heart of the way the world is evolving, but women are still underserved and we need to get more women on board. UNCTAD does just that: It helps women by providing information and resources so that women can hear our voices and feel our contribution. ”

"I look forward to sharing my knowledge, skills and experience with other women in the region, developing tools for them, and getting more information and resources." I started my corporate career outside the Middle East and used those years of experience to eventually return to the region and use what I learned to build business and create value. ”

Mumzworld was founded in 2011 to support women in the Arab world and help them make informed decisions for their families.

Mona Ataya said that in the past, women in the Arab world had limited access to products, prices were very high, and there were no online communities for mothers to use. To that end, she set out to address these challenges, building a family with a business that covers more than 2.5 million mothers and provides quality mother and baby products to the region's population, with Mumzworld becoming the first choice.

"Today, with more than 350 employees selling 6,000 brands and 300,000 products online, successful local businesses have become the gold standard and create momentum for other women to succeed and create more jobs in the region."

She believes that the e-commerce industry in the Middle East has long been dominated by men. This can be a huge challenge for women working in this field: you have to use your unique skills and abilities to navigate the maze and succeed.

"Fortunately, when women succeed and build scalable businesses, we give other women the courage to join and start their own businesses as well." My husband and three teenage sons understood me very well and it made a lot of sense to me. Their support has played an important role in my success because entrepreneurs have to compromise, sacrifice time, and put in a lot of effort to do a good job. ”
