After the close servant who lived with him at that time knew that Puyi was not favored by Empress Longyu, she began to bully him, and even in the affairs of men and women, he did not restrain himself, resulting in excessive physical overdraft. Moreover, after Puyi married Empress Wanrong and Guifei Wenxiu, because of the naughtiness of her youth, the two concubines failed to leave heirs for her.
In 1912, Empress Longyu issued the "Edict of abdication of the Qing Emperor", at this time he was even more helpless, although he could continue to live in the Forbidden City, and he could also receive 4 million taels of silver allocated by the Beiyang government every year for the royal family's expenses. Although Puyi abdicated, there were plenty of silver two, so that he could continue to live an emperor-like life.
