Although he experienced many battles and reorganizations, Wang Shicai was still only a squad leader of the 223rd Regiment of the Red 75th Division, and later the Red 25th Army was severely damaged by the enemy army when it moved to northeast Hubei, and General Xu Haidong led his troops back to northwest Anhui to join the Red 82nd Division to rebuild the Red 28th Army, and Wang Shicai was among them.

In 1934, the Red 25th Army and the Red 28th Army met, the unit was merged into the Red 25th Army, the red 28th Army was abolished, at that time Wang Shicai had 5 years of military experience, called experienced in hundreds of battles, the unit urgently needed a group of grass-roots officers with combat experience, Wang Shicai was promoted to deputy platoon commander of the 74th Division.

In June 1946, Wang Shicai was transferred to the 45th Regiment of the 15th Brigade of the 2nd Column of the Central Plains Army, and in the battle of the breakthrough of the North Zhongyuan Road, Wang Shicai led his troops to serve as a blockade task to cover the retreat of the main force, and on July 19, Wang Shicai led the 45th Regiment to occupy the highlands of the qianpoling ridge of Zhao Chuan and launched a blockade.
