It is rare to mention more than two levels, but a tough general in the Red Army has been promoted to 5 levels in a row, directly promoted from platoon commander to division commander, so who is this person? He is Wang Shicai. Wang Shicai is a native of Jinzhai, Anhui, which is also a famous general county in China, from which a total of 59 founding generals have come out. In 1929, at the age of 18, Wang Shicai joined the army and became a glorious Soldier of the Red Army.
After joining the Red Army, Wang Shicai successively served in the Red 12th, Red 27th and 74th Divisions, during which he followed the troops to participate in the anti-three-way siege and anti-six-way siege and other battles, accumulating rich combat experience. In April 1934, Wang Shicai came to the Red 25th Army of the Red Army Tiger General Xu Haidong and served as the deputy platoon commander of the 74th Division. Seven months later, the Red 25th Army began the Long March, and Wang Shicai was promoted to the commander of the division's traffic platoon, at this time it had been a full 5 years since he joined the army! On December 8, 1934, the Red 25th Army entered the territory of Shangluo, Shaanxi Through tiesuo Pass at the junction of Yu and Shaanxi, and decided to create a revolutionary base area in Eyu-Shaanxi here, changing the Eyu-Anhui Provincial Party Committee to the Eyu-Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee.
With the development of the activities of creating base areas, many company and platoon-level cadres were sent to the localities to carry out work, among which Wang Shicai was sent to the area around the Hongyan Temple. During this period, he showed excellent military command and organizational skills, led the troops to eliminate the nearby township protection forces, and the team grew from the initial 30 to more than 200 people. On February 11, the 3rd Guerrilla Division of Eshan was proclaimed at Hongyan Temple, and Wang Shicai was appointed division commander, at which point he had only been serving as platoon leader for more than three months. From platoon commander to division commander, five ranks in a row is extremely rare in the history of our army.
Wang Shicai quickly repaid the trust of his superiors with practical actions. After taking office, he led the troops to crush within a month a large number of reactionary forces, such as the Cai Liuhan Militia Regiment of the Loess Plateau, the Wuqishi Militia of Dashahe, the Wanqing Zhu'an Gui Militia, and the Liwanggou Cai Qianshan Militia, and distributed the fields they occupied to the poor local people. After that, he commanded his troops to eliminate liao gong'an, a big bandit who had been committing crimes in Wafanggou for several years, and the Red Army was greatly encouraged by this, and when Wang Shicai's name was mentioned, people praised him.
After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in full swing, Wang Shicai successively served as the commander of the 3rd Battalion of the 4th Regiment of the Northwest Left Guard Corps, the commander of the 9th Regiment of the 3rd Detachment of the Henan People's Anti-Japanese Army, and the commander of the main regiment of the Yuzhong Military Sub-district. After the surrender of the Japanese Kou, Wang Shicai was transferred to the 45th Regiment of the 15th Brigade of the 2nd Column of the Central Plains Military Region, and the 45th Regiment was not only the main force of the 15th Brigade, but also the main force of the column. Soon after the breakthrough of the Central Plains broke out, Wang Shicai led his troops as a vanguard to continuously break through the enemy's encirclement and blockade. On July 19, 1946, in order to cover the breakthrough of the leading organs of the Central Plains Troops, Wang Shicai led the 45th Regiment to hold the qianpoling blocking position, and fought fiercely with the Kuomintang Reorganized 3rd Division for a full 16 hours, repelling 17 consecutive enemy charges! But unfortunately, Wang Shicai died heroically in this blockade battle, at the age of 35.
