In the summer of 2013, after a heavy rainstorm, a large number of celadon fragments were washed out by the torrential rain, and the forbidden mountain kiln site was found.

In 2015, the site of the early Yue kiln in Shangyu Forbidden Mountain, Zhejiang Province, was rated as one of the "Top Ten New Archaeological Discoveries in China in 2014". Known by experts as the "cradle of mature celadon porcelain", it allows you to glimpse the secrets of the transmutation of ancient Chinese porcelain from primitive porcelain to mature porcelain.

Qin Dashu, a professor at Peking University's School of Archaeology and Literature, said that ancient Chinese mature porcelain appeared in the late Eastern Han Dynasty. However, from primitive porcelain to mature porcelain, what is the breakthrough of core technology? What was the overall appearance of the product and the form of production organization during this period? These problems have not been resolved for a long time. "The excavation of the Shangyu Forbidden Mountain kiln site provides new and informative information to reveal these important issues in the history of Chinese ceramics. Among them, there are 3 dragon kilns on a hillside, which belong to the Three Periods of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the Three Kingdoms and the Western Jin Dynasty, which makes longitudinal comparative research more convenient. ”

In Shangpu Town, where the Forbidden Mountain kiln site is located, the ancient porcelain industry was very developed. There are more than 200 kiln sites in Shangpu Town, and 12 of the 13 organized villages in the town have ancient kiln sites. Often a flood of water, a hoe, you can find a lot of porcelain pieces, it can be said that there are ancient kilns in the village, and there are celadons everywhere.

Relying on the forbidden mountain kiln site and the Phoenix Mountain kiln site, the Shangyu District Committee and District Government built the Phoenix Mountain Archaeological Site Park here.

The waves of pine waves, birds singing in the mountains, and climbing up the stairs, the three dragon kilns at the forbidden mountain kiln site with great characteristics and cultural relics value come into view. The greenhouses covered the ruins of the kilns and were surrounded by a fence more than a meter high, which blended well with the surrounding environment and also reflected the minimal intervention in the protection of the site. For visitors, the dragon kiln is almost open, and it will be more intuitive to observe the cultural relics of thousands of years ago at close range.

Not far from the three dragon kilns, an antique wood-fired dragon kiln has been built to facilitate visitors to understand the structure of the dragon kiln. The dragon kiln is about 13 meters long and contains 10 kiln chambers, a kiln head, a kiln tail, 10 pairs of fire holes, two kiln doors, and a chimney. The kiln shed is built on the upper side, and the corridors are set on both sides, which is beautiful and atmospheric in appearance, in line with the overall supporting style of the gulong kiln. In addition to being visited, the dragon kiln also produces Yue kiln celadon works twice a year, and holds kiln worship ceremonies and traditional kiln opening festivals to recreate the scene of the thousand-year-old kiln fire.

In addition to the very distinctive dragon kiln, what other traditional kiln forms are there in China? What are the differences in kilns from place to place? ...... Selecting the more representative kilns from all over the world, the park has built a number of kiln models in an open square, including gourd kilns, steamed bun kilns, horseshoe kilns, town kilns, Taiping kilns, and so on. Visitors can get close to the kiln and learn about its historical origins, shape characteristics, internal structure, size, firing method and development history, which can be called a small kiln museum.

Held the secret color porcelain research and development competition, cooperated with the Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts to build a ceramic art center, held the "Porcelain Source Lotus Cultural Festival", opened a network live broadcast... Nowadays, on the road of promoting rural revitalization, Shangpu Town's long-standing celadon culture has won more and more attention.
