However, when people worship the Lord of Heaven, they do not know whether they have noticed one thing, there are many gods and immortals in the Chinese mythological system, who is this legendary God?
The title "Lord" is obviously a common name, not his official title. The official title of God is "Heavenly Emperor", a god who rules the world. In the Chinese mythological system, there are three heavenly emperors:
First, the Second Emperor of Yanhuang
The Book of Shang records: "Wantonly resemble God, Zen in the Six Sects, look at the mountains and rivers, and see the gods all over the world." "During the Xia and Shang dynasties, Chinese worshipped their ancestors, that is, the Yellow Emperor and the Yan Emperor.
The ancients regarded the Second Emperor of Yanhuang as a god and prayed for their protection. The Second Emperor of Yanhuang was the Heavenly Lord of the Ancient Period, and with the changes of the times, the Heavenly Emperor changed.
2. Eastern Emperor Taiyi
The Chu Ci records: "Taiyi, the name of the star, the god of heaven, the word is in Chudong, to match the Eastern Emperor, so it is known as the Eastern Emperor." ”
The Eastern Emperor is not a surname, but emphasizes the honor of identity. Between the Zhou Dynasty and the Tang Dynasty, the Eastern Emperor Taiyi was the main object of worship, that is, what people call "Lord God".
3. The Jade Emperor
The Jade Emperor is the most well-known god, he is the head of the gods. The Jade Emperor, also known as the Haotian Emperor, was known as "Haotian Jin que supreme supreme nature mysterious Miluo to true jade emperor god", and was revered by Song Zhenzong.
After the Song Dynasty, the Jade Emperor became the head of the gods, and his status was very lofty, and he became the "Lord of Heaven", which has been passed down to this day. Nowadays, people say that the Old Heavenly Emperor is the third generation of Heavenly Emperors- the Jade Emperor.
