In-depth analysis of the two seasons of "The Beginning of the Lantern": What really happened that night? Who is the real culprit?

author:Miscellaneous School 1981

Produced by Netflix and co-starring Lin Xinru, Yang Jinhua, Yang Youning and Huo Jianhua, the suspense drama "Hua Lantern Chu Shang" aired the second season at the end of 2022. The same slow and rational, the same old cloth doubts, the second season uses a seemingly understated, but actually hidden mechanism, for us to slowly uncover, the undercurrent under the calm water, the deep dark color hidden in the bright "light".

It is really hard to imagine that the sisterhood of more than twenty years, once it collapsed, could have such a destructive power.

After hiding Du (white powder) in Rose's house, in fact, Su can completely report anonymously, but she still entrusted it to Ma Tianhua (Huo Jianhua), which shows that she wants Ma Tianhua to do not only report Rose, but also to use his mentality of repaying kindness, hoping that he will use more extreme means to completely destroy Rose.

In my opinion, this is not just because of jealousy (Jiang Han said that he would choose Rose between them), nor is it just because of the inferiority and depression caused by being taken care of for a long time. Most likely, it was because she wanted to take back her biological son forever. After Rose was imprisoned, it was she who took care of Ziwei. And she wanted to send Rose to jail again, or even hell.

Moreover, her cunning and malice were not only used on Rose. This can't help but make me wonder how much hatred is buried in Su's heart, which can drive her to destroy the things that others care about most before leaving, including Jiang Han's career and Ah Ji's confidence.

The moment the first season finally unveiled the white cloth, the little regret I felt was now gone.

Looking back at the first season, the question of "who was killed" was accompanied until the end. Now in the second season, the question becomes "who is the murderer", and as the plot progresses, almost every time a suspect is locked, the show will definitely give clues to blur the suspicion, so that at the last moment, the answer has not yet been revealed.

However, in these seemingly chaotic and unrelated plots, they can still provide us with some clues to restore the truth.

First of all, let's review the key information of the case.

Sue was killed from 00:00 to 4:00 a.m. that day, fatally wounded in the head, the forensic doctor judged that he was hit many times (note here, it may be the same person hit, or may not be), and the wound was detected with stones, dirt, glass and other substances. The body was dragged for a while, followed by a series of footprints (the police judged it was carried to the burial site).

Combining this information, as well as Pan Wencheng's judgment, we can basically infer two necessary conditions, a car and a man. Cars move bodies, men drag bodies.

Then, we see that at the end of the second season, Jiang Han was hit by a car, and after eyebrow comparison, the driver was the young police officer Ada. Before this, when Jiang Han was listening to the recording, he heard a female voice (it should be Hanako) panicking and saying, "I didn't mean it", "Is she dead", in fact, he was not holding his own tape recorder at this time, but mistakenly took Ada when he was at the police station. I don't know if anyone remembers, at the beginning of the first episode of the first season, Ada was questioning a suspect, and without saying two words, his tape recorder jumped to a halt, which corresponds to the plot behind.

Okay, does Ada have a car? some. One night, Ah Cheng stayed at the police station, and when chatting, he asked Ada "Do you have a car and a house", and Ada replied "Yes".

So, did you mean that Hanako killed Sue and then called Ada to drive along and bury the body in the mountains?

I felt that when there was still a whole season that didn't air, in the style of the screenwriter, it was unlikely to put the real murderer in front of our eyes, so I tended to think that this was a smoke bomb thrown by the screenwriter, and the real murderer was someone else.

What really happened that night?

Hanako says that she went to play with water that night, which is quite unreasonable. I think it's likely that she was waiting for Rose to leave and wanted to ask Sue something alone, or simply say goodbye to her. (I prefer the former)

After that, she saw Su and Jiang Han, and after Jiang Han left, she questioned Su, su would definitely be like treating Aji, cold and cold to Hanako, and then Hanako's new hatred and old hatred, in a rage, used a cigarette jar or wine bottle to knock Su unconscious.

I remember that when several police officers discussed, they mentioned that Sue's right forehead was injured, and when a group of people were having dinner at Rose's house, we could see that Hanako's dominant hand was her left hand, so this right forehead should be Hanako's beating.

The panicked Hanako summoned Ada, and it was at this time that Ada's tape recorder was mistakenly touched and recorded the whole process after that. You know, the tape can record at least an hour, and when Jiang Han listened later, it was obvious that it was not just two sentences.

Speaking of this, I don't know if you have any impression, at the beginning of the second season, the day after the storm (the day Rose returned from the police station), Hanako told Rose that they cleaned up all night, all glass, mud or something, and said that they could open on the same day. I was still a little strange at the time, they should all go to work in the evening, they all left that night, why would they think of cleaning up during the day. I think this may at least show that the first scene of the crime was in the "light", and Hanako is inseparable from the case, and she is likely to go back to clean up the scene later. If A Cheng is in the "light" and sprays some luminol reagent, you may be able to see the blood stains.

Bao's mother said that after Jiang Han, there was another woman who entered the "light". I don't think this woman is Hanako, and If Hanako wants to see Sue alone, she will definitely avoid Rose, so she is more likely to go back through the back door. Then, the woman that Bao Mom saw was likely to be the final BOSS. Unfortunately, Mom Po didn't say anything else about the woman. (It is also exaggerated that the police officer does not ask)

And this person (probably the woman that Bao's mother saw), probably witnessed the scene where Hanako stunned Sue, Hanako, and Ada transferred Su, followed the two to the mountain, and when Hanako and the two had just left, they found that Sue was awakened by heavy rain, and stood up and walked a distance (the footprints after dragging), and then this person took the opportunity to lift the stone and smash Sue completely. Get away.

So, who is most likely to?

After two seasons, there are not too many characters who are directly related to Su, and it seems that they are all suspicious, but if you really have a mortal vendetta with Su, it seems that no one is quite like. In the murder case, in addition to manslaughter, it is basically inseparable from love, wealth and hatred. In addition to Hanako, let's see who else is.

Rose, who had previously taken the initiative to find Jiang Han, wanted to persuade him to treat Su well, so she would not kill for the sake of "love". In addition, the shares in the store will not change because of Sue's death, and the "cai" aspect should not be her motivation. The two sisters have lived together for twenty years, and the word "hatred" cannot be said. Well, Rose had no reason to do it.

Aizi, the motive may be "love" or "revenge", and she has also broken into Sue's home before. However, Su had to leave, and she would never see He Yu'en again, and she would not be able to kill for "love". As for "vendetta", I don't think it will be for this, after all, we can see that her mother still cares about her later. Therefore, the motive of the beloved son is not obvious.

Lily and her boyfriend, I think they're just trying to get something back, even if they kill Sue, they still can't get it back, unless Sue's presence threatens both of them. But I think that Sue's main purpose is not these two people, she still wants to marry Rose, so she will not take the initiative to intensify the conflict with Lily. So, Lily and Lily don't look alike either.

Aji, got the diamond ring, and by this time Nakamura had returned to Japan, and I think she knew that even without Sue, she had no hope of going with Nakamura. Therefore, her possibility is not great.

Jiang Han had already left beforehand, and unless there was any reason to return, he really didn't think he was suspicious.

As for He Yu'en, his motivation is relatively large, because he may feel that Sue deceived him by pretending to be pregnant and tested him in this way. When he told Ah Cheng, he only mentioned that Su was pregnant with his child, but on the last night, Su told him that it was a lie to him, so it was very likely that after he left, he saw Jiang Han and then returned, and finally became angry and went with the flow, killing the killer. Later, he also took the initiative to find Aiko to help report the material, which was also very strange, most likely to confuse the public.

Yes, there is also a motivation for Sue's mother. She learned that Su was going to Japan, so she ran to "Hikaru" after the restaurant was finished, and Su, who was looking for Su after Jiang Han, may want money, or want Su to bring her to Japan. Unexpectedly, seeing Hanako they transferred Sue, she followed up and mended the knife. Well, after Su's death, she was able to get Su's property as the only blood relative (she didn't know ziwei existed at that time).

Who else, Xiao Hao and YaYa have no story, so there is nothing to guess. The words of others are not too much directly related to Su, and I feel that there is nothing to analyze.

Therefore, based on the current plot, Hanako injured Su and Ada helped transfer Su, and the real murderer, if ordered by suspicion, Su's mother is the biggest (for money), and He Yu'en is second (for love).

Finally, I would like to say that hopefully the final reversal of the third season will be bigger, such as Rose.

Or maybe it's bigger...

What do you think?
