The annual Vienna Philharmonic New Year's Concert will be staged on January 1, 2022 at 11:15 a.m. (18:15 Beijing time) at the Musikverein in Vienna, Austria, to welcome the New Year.
In 2022, the 82nd Annual Concert will be conducted by classical music maestro Daniel Barenboim, who has a long-standing collaboration with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. This will be his third Time As Conductor of a New Year's Concert, and notable conductors who have held this position include Riccardo Muti (2021 and 2018), Andris Nelsons (2020), Christian Thielemann (2019), Gustavo Dudamel (2017) and Maris Janss Jansons (2016). The New Year's Concert will feature Johann Strauss' family and contemporary music in a light and lively style, broadcast live on air and television, with millions of viewers in more than 90 countries and regions watching live.
