It turned out that when Song Lizong was buried, in order to prevent the body from decomposing, the body was soaked with mercury, and Song Lizong's corpse was well preserved.
After the thieves stole all the treasures in the coffin, they dragged Song Lizong's body out of the mausoleum, hung upside down on the trees in front of the mausoleum to extract mercury, and pried away the night pearl contained in his mouth. In the end, they went so far as to cut off Song Lizong's head and take it away, and the trunk was discarded in the grass next to it, and then burned. There was a man named Tang Jue in Shaoxing, who, after hearing about Lizong's encounter, pawned all the family property and privately prepared a banquet to entertain the young and strong people in the township. When everyone was half-drunk, Tang Jue suddenly said, "Today I want to ask everyone to help and go to the Six Tombs to collect the bones of the former emperor. One person replied worriedly: "There are officers and soldiers guarding the mountain, and the tiger is looking at it, what if things are exposed?" Tang Jue said, "I have already made preparations, there are a lot of white bones around, why don't we exchange a tanuki cat for a prince with a fake and real thing!" The crowd agreed to help.
Tang Jue took out a wooden box prepared in advance, covered with yellow silk, and wrote the name of the emperor and the name of the tomb. Taking advantage of the night, they went up the mountain to collect the remains of the emperors separately, buried them in front of the Yin Tianzhang Temple of Baoshan Mountain, and planted holly trees as a symbol. The next day, Tang Jue took out money to reward everyone.
Seven days later, Yang Lian zhenjia ordered the people to take the head of Song Lizong and make it into a wine vessel, which would be used to serve wine when the guests were feasted. At the same time, he also asked his subordinates to wrap the bones of the emperors, and the subordinates could not find the remains of the emperors, so they had to replace them with the bones of cattle and horses. Finally, Yang Lian Zhenjia "built a white pagoda with a height of thirteen meters to press it, known as Zhenben" in the Lin'an Forbidden City, to show the intention of winning the victory over the people of Jiangnan.
After Zhu Yuanzhang captured Dadu, he sent people to find the head of Song Lizong in the imperial palace, and lamented what happened to Lizong. In the second year of Hongwu, Zhu Yuanzhang buried him in Yingtianfu with the ceremony of an emperor. The following year, Lizong's skull was buried at the site of the Yongmu Mausoleum in Shaoxing.
