He was the person Puyi hated the most, and the foreigners did not move his mansion, single-handedly leading to the demise of the Qing Dynasty

If you want to ask who Puyi hates the most, some people will think that it is Feng Yuxiang who drove him out of the Forbidden City, some people will think that it is the Japanese who regarded him as a puppet, and some people will think that it is his empress Wanrong and the imperial concubine Wenxiu, and even Empress Longyu who stamped the seal on his behalf in the "Edict of the Abdication of the Qing Emperor".

But none of that. The person Puyi hated the most was a Manchu Qing prince, or the iron hat king who symbolized the supreme honor, the Prince of Qing Yili. As the prince of the clan, Yi Li had miserably destroyed the Qing government, and he had a share of any bad things; what betrayed the officials, colluded with foreigners, and even betrayed the Qing government, leading to the direct demise of the Qing Dynasty, all had his own business. This matter has to start from the time when Empress Dowager Cixi was still alive.

Yi Li was the youngest son of Qianlong, the grandson of the seventeenth son of the Emperor YongXuan, although he was not a royal relative, he did not have much talent, and he could not be compared with Prince Gong Yixuan and so on, but he had a good hand. The reason why Empress Dowager Cixi was valued by the Xianfeng Emperor at the beginning was precisely because she was able to write well and could help write folds, so Yi Xi, who often helped Cixi to write letters to the family, entered Cixi's eyes.

In the late Qing Dynasty, there were many members of the royal family, and Yi Li also knew that he did not have much power, so he hugged Cixi's thigh tightly, first in 1884, through the contradiction between Cixi and YiXuan, he became the King of Qingjun and took over as the prime minister of state affairs; in 1894, when Cixi was on his sixtieth birthday, he won Cixi's favor and became the Prince of Qing.

Along with his rising status came the courtiers' inaction, but it was clear that he didn't care about that. In 1898, when the Penghu ReformAtion broke out, Yi Li stood on the side of Cixi in time and won the final victory; after the outbreak of the Eight-Power Alliance's war of aggression against China in 1900, he stayed in Beijing with Li Hongzhang and was responsible for negotiating peace with various countries.

At that time, the coalition troops broke into the capital, and even the Yuanmingyuan was destroyed, not to mention the residences of other nobles and relatives, but the foreigners did not dare to move the mansions of Yi Li. Why? Because of his greed, he deposited all the money he had in foreign banks, and according to the British newspaper The Times, he had assets in foreign banks alone of 7.125 million pounds, which was not counting the 1.2 million taels of deposits in HSBC.

Because of Yi Li's friendship with foreigners, when the "Xinugu Treaty" was signed in 1901, he actually accompanied Li Hongzhang to sign it. Two years later, the original military aircraft minister Rong Lu died of illness, and Yi Li began to enter the military aircraft department, and his power was further expanded, and he began to openly engage in the matter of selling officials and knights. For a time, the entrance to the palace was like a city, and all the people who came in and out were people who bought officials, so the Qingwangfu was called "Qingna Company".

After talking about greed and dealings with foreigners, the next thing is yi li betraying the Qing Dynasty. In fact, Yuan's ambitions have long been known to everyone, so as soon as Cixi died, Puyi, who was appointed as the regent, and his father, Zaifeng the Prince of Alcohol, dismissed Yuan from his post, and Yuan had to return to his hometown in Henan because of illness. But why is it said that Yi Li is more greedy than He Yan? Because he would rather "elbow out" for money.

Yuan did not die on this, but paid more attention to the domestic situation, taking advantage of the outbreak of the Wuchang Uprising in 1911, Yuan mou found Yi Li, exchanged 3 million taels for Yi Li to ensure that he returned to the political center, and lobbied other royal relatives to continuously advise Empress Longyu to abdicate Puyi. Empress Dowager Longyu's ears were soft, and under the constant persuasion of Yi Xi and others, it was finally decided to stamp the seal on the "Edict of the Abdication of the Qing Emperor".

Because of these actions of Yi Xi, Puyi hated him to the bone, and when Yi Xi died in 1918 and needed Puyi to draw up a nickname, Puyi was only willing to choose among the 4 "false, ugly, humorous, and powerful". Still Zaifeng felt that everyone was a clan relative and it was not good to do too much, so he persuaded Puyi to change Yi Xi's nickname to a "secret" character representing "repentance of previous past lives".
