"Replica" of the Babylonian Palace

At the exhibition hall of the Jinsha Site Museum's "Kaleidoscope of Civilization - Exhibition of Ancient Syrian Cultural Relics", the "ancient yesterday" is being recreated one by one.

Entering the exhibition hall, the "time and space tunnel" formed by the combination of projection and stereoscopic mirror installation is already in place, and the picture continues to flash a brilliant historical site, leading people into the 500,000-year history of Syria. It is reported that in order to fully reflect the uniqueness of Syrian culture, the color and layout of the exhibition hall are all titled "Kaleidoscope of Civilization". The color of the exhibition hall varies according to the content of each part. Transitioning from the dark brown of the Stone Age to the gradually bright yellow of the Bronze Age, the Iron Age added a highly saturated "Babylonian blue" on the basis of the light tones of the Assyrian palace, and the Classical Period added a strong visual impact of red to represent the great cultural integration of this stage. In the final hall, the friendly relationship between China and Syria from ancient times to the present is displayed through the blue color symbolizing friendship.

It is worth mentioning that the colorful world in the exhibition hall is connected by the "kaleidoscope" shape of the exhibition line, and the exhibition is rotated, giving people a unique experience of "mountains and rivers are doubtful, willows and dark flowers are bright and another village". In particular, the entrance to the central area recreates the magnificent arches of the Assyrian Palace in three dimensions. The walls are decorated with Assyrian reliefs, and on both sides of the arch stand two 2-meter-tall human-winged cow statues, showing the original Assyrian style. Within this area, along with the time trail of the spiral, the bright "Babylonian Blue" takes the viewer's gaze from the Assyrian Palace to the Kingdom of Babylon. The huge light box restored according to the Ishtar Gate in Babylon is definitely a good place to take photos and punch cards.

Places like Palmyra, Syria, were relay stations and watersheds on the Silk Roads. Here the Silk Road trade stretched northwest to Europe and southwest to Egypt. Silk, porcelain and other "best-selling products" from China, as well as Jingjiao from ancient Syria, all passed through the east and west through one trading city after another. In this exhibition, the audience can see the silk and Chinese-style porcelain unearthed in Syria, as well as the nearly 2-meter-high rubbings of the "Great Qin Jingjiao Popular Chinese Monument", which are the carriers and witnesses of the Silk Road cultural dialogue.

It is reported that this exhibition, sponsored by the Jinsha Site Museum in Chengdu, is an active exploration of practicing the "Belt and Road" initiative, responding to the "Asian Cultural Heritage Protection Action", deepening the traditional friendship between China and countries along the Silk Road, and carrying out cultural exchanges and mutual learning. The exhibition is guided by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the Sichuan Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau, the Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Film and Tourism (Chengdu Cultural Relics Bureau), and supported by the China Cultural Relics Exchange Center and the Embassy of the Syrian Arab Republic in China.
