History is asleep, time is awake; the world is asleep, you are awake. - Love
No matter how powerful a dynasty may be in its glory, it will fall apart when it is about to fall, and peasant movements will break out in many places, and the last feudal dynasty in Chinese history, the Qing Dynasty, is no exception. In the last years of the Qing Dynasty, under the rule of Empress Dowager Cixi, the Qing government became corrupt and incompetent, and the Qing Dynasty at this time was also facing the aggression of many Western countries, which can be described as internal and external troubles. At this time when the political situation was unstable, the Boxer Rebellion broke out, and they wantonly killed foreigners who were still in China under the slogan of "supporting the Qing Dynasty and destroying the foreigners."

The Boxer Rebellion belonged to the peasant movement in the sense, but their combat effectiveness was leveraged, and many foreigners in China were killed in a short period of time. Although the Boxers did not receive positive support from the imperial court, their "invincible" remarks shocked many foreigners. Logically, the Boxers' killing of foreigners was in line with the qing rulers' intentions, but they killed too many foreigners in a short period of time, and such behavior caused the Qing government to fall into the threat of foreigners. The foreigners told the Qing rulers to let them immediately suppress the Boxer Rebellion, otherwise they would formally use troops against the Qing government. Cixi was threatened by foreigners, and she did not want her ancestors' centuries-old inheritance to be destroyed in her hands, so she had to send someone to suppress the Boxer Rebellion, and this person who was in danger was Yuan Shikai.
At that time, the Boxers were frequently active in Shandong and Hebei, and the Boxers in Shandong were more powerful in comparison, so Yuan Shikai first arrived in Shandong. After Yuan Shikai arrived in Shandong, he did not directly lead the army to attack them, but did not hurry to prepare to touch their facts first to see if they were really invincible. So one day Yuan Shikai invited several leaders of the Boxer Rebellion to the hotel for dinner, and at the dinner table Yuan Shikai set the words of those leaders from time to time, and after several inquiries, Yuan Shikai asked them bluntly whether they were really invincible.
The leader who was asked firmly believed that he had a divine protective body, and he must be invincible, and he also performed some blindfolds to Yuan Shikai to show his skills. Yuan Shikai was suspicious when he watched this leader's performance, but he still did not believe that this person could not enter the sword and gun, so he directly took out his gun and shot at the leader who was performing. Sure enough, the beaten leader was shot dead, and the others were also disillusioned.
In the final analysis, this movement was not supported by the imperial court, and most of the soldiers in the movement were uneducated peasants, without formal training, and once they fought with the regular army, they were bound to lose. Therefore, these Boxers later withdrew one after another because they were afraid of Yuan Shikai's power, but the Boxer Rebellion still had a certain practical significance, and this movement can be said to have shattered the unrealistic dream of imperialism to divide China in a short period of time, leaving a slight opportunity for china in the last feudal era to breathe.
