In 2016, Jiangsu officially launched the "Jiangsu Context Collation and Research Project", planning to spend 10 years to compile and publish 3,000 books to show the cultural roots of Jiangsu.
On December 30, 2021, the fourth batch of achievements of Jiangsu Bunko was held. So far, hundreds of experts and scholars have produced 740 books.
On the occasion of the press conference of the results, we interviewed the editors-in-chief of the sixth edition of Jiangsu Wenku to understand the story behind the compilation and publication with the public.
In this issue, we will interview Jiang Xiaoqing, director of the Office of the Jiangsu Wenmai Editing and Publishing Leading Group of Phoenix Publishing and Media Group and editor-in-chief of Jiangsu Wenku Bibliography.
The fourth batch of 253 volumes was compiled and published, once again refreshing the new speed
86 volumes, 184 volumes, 217 volumes, 253 volumes... This is a group of "contemporary Xiao Tong" racing against the new speed of time. Bibliography, literature, essence, Fang Zhi, historical materials, research, hundreds of scholars behind the six categories are continuing to exert efforts.

Since 2018, Jiangsu Bunko has continued to be renewed every year. This year, the first batch of 86 volumes of "Jiangsu Wenku" came out, which means that the picture of the Three Thousand Classics presenting the Su-style cultural space is becoming clearer and clearer.
In October 2019, the six editions of Jiangsu Bunko went hand in hand, and 184 volumes of results were launched. Among them, "Jiangsu Yiwenzhi" is the painstaking effort of 116 contemporary experts and scholars in the past 14 years to study and sort out, which can be called the "big case technique" with great value and unprecedented value in the Jiangsu literary circle.
In December 2020, Jiangsu Wenku released the third batch of achievements, 217 new books were unveiled, and dozens of rare manuscript manuscripts were included, which is of great documentary value.
In December 2021, "Jiangsu Bunko" was newly updated again, with 253 volumes of achievements, continuing the good compilation and publication situation of six parts, so that the richness of "Jiangsu Bunko" can be fully demonstrated.
Jiang Xiaoqing told the Modern Express reporter that by the end of 2021, jiangsu bunko has published a total of 740 volumes, including 1,061 kinds of ancient documents. Among them, there are 37 volumes of bibliographies, 189 volumes of literature, 95 volumes of essence, 154 volumes of historical materials, 214 volumes of Fang Zhi, and 51 volumes of research.
A number of achievements have been affirmed by the academic community, and many new books have become the "best annotated books"
Jiangsu has a profound cultural heritage and a vast sea of classics. "The 'bibliography' is to find out the background of Jiangsu literature." Jiang Xiaoqing told the Modern Express reporter that the "bibliography" includes a catalogue of works written by Jiangsu people, a catalogue of works written in Jiangsu in previous dynasties, and a catalogue of ancient books collected in Jiangsu. At present, the revised edition of "Jiangsu Yiwenzhi" and "Jiangsu Local Literature" have been published, which basically find out the writings of ancient Writers in Jiangsu and the background of Local Writers in Jiangsu. The revised edition of Jiangsu Yiwenzhi consists of 13 volumes and 28 volumes, including 1 index volume, with a total of 29,617 authors and 85,309 works. "Jiangsu Local Literature" is divided into 20 categories, and more than 6100 kinds of bibliographies are bibliographed. ”

In the sustainable publication of Jiangsu Wenku over the years, a number of collation and research results have been fully affirmed by the academic community. According to Jiang Xiaoqing, Zhou Xunchu's "Analysis of Wenxin Carved Dragon" modernizes traditional culture and has strong academic innovation, and has been evaluated as "a comprehensive academic treatise integrating research, teaching and popularization". Xu Weixian's "Commentaries on the Interpretation of Words in Shuowen" is known as "the best reading of commentaries on the passages of Shuowen", and Teng Zhixian's "Biography of Shi Mao", because of its depth of collation, has become one of the most important annotations for the study of Mao's poetry in recent years.
Jiang Xiaoqing introduced to the Modern Express reporter that the editing work of the "Outline of the General Catalogue of the Jiangsu Library" is being carried out simultaneously with the publication of the "Library" book. "Considering the sheer size of the Library, the Compendium may be more accessible to readers, and we have compiled and printed the first three batches of book summaries, which will be published every year. The final "Outline of the General Catalogue", in addition to the more than 8,000 kinds of Jiangsu local literature included in the "Library", will also append the "Uncollected Bibliography and Editions of the Jiangsu Library". ”
Computers and mobile phones can read the "Jiangsu Library", and mass communication is the focus of the next five years
2021 is the year of "Jiangsu Context Collation and Research Project". In this year, the compilation and publication of "Jiangsu Wenku" handed over a perfect "mid-term answer sheet" and smoothly entered the second half.
"According to the plan, Jiangsu Bunko will publish 250 to 300 copies per year in the future." Jiang Xiaoqing revealed that at the end of the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan", that is, the time determined by the "Cultural Context Project Implementation Plan", the "Bibliography Compilation", "Fang Zhi Compilation", "Historical Material Compilation", "Research Compilation", and "Literature" and "Essence" of the "Six Editions" can be basically completed, and the two parts will also be completed within two or three years after the end of the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan".
At the same time, Jiang Xiaoqing also revealed a good news, the current "Jiangsu Library" database of the first phase of the project and WeChat Mini Program have been completed. That is to say, it is now possible to read the "Jiangsu Library" through the PC side and the WeChat Mini Program.
"This is just the beginning, we want to put the rich content of Jiangsu culture through digital means, networked communication channels to present and spread out, this is the purpose of our digitalization." In Jiang Xiaoqing's view, disseminating the "Jiangsu Context Collation and Research Project" and the development of Jiangsu culture through the database platform is also an important task in the next five years. "I have to admit that the literature is niche, but many of the ideas contained in the literature can be popularized. For example, when we mention many of the contents of the Analects now, we may not necessarily follow the original words, but many of the concepts in the Analects have been deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. Therefore, popularization should be in the popularization of concepts, and it is not necessary to stick to a word and a book. ”
Jiang Xiaoqing hopes that in the future, every Jiangsu person, even primary and secondary school students, can understand the contribution of their hometown's cultural civilization to Chinese culture and world civilization through the "Jiangsu Context Collation and Research Project", so as to love their hometown more. Jiang Xiaoqing said frankly: "The popularization of the 'Jiangsu Context Collation and Research Project' will even be more difficult than our preliminary work, but it must be done, because this is the ultimate meaning of our project." ”
