Recently, haptic feedback company BHaptics announced its first consumer-grade haptic glove Tactglove, which is designed for use in camera-based hand tracking systems such as Meta Quest and Leap Motion, and according to the company, using a camera-based system allows it to improve the quality of haptic feedback while reducing the overall price. At present, the glove is available in three models, M, L, and XL, priced at $299/pair, and the battery supports a 4-hour wireless experience.

Made from stretch fabric, Tactglove contains a set of built-in gloves for easy disassembly and washing, with 10 Linear Resonant Actuators (LRA) at each fingertip that provide "fine and complex feedback" and are controlled via the Bhaptics SDK.

In terms of compatibility, Glove currently supports a small number of games and applications developed around hand tracking, including Unplugged: Air Guitar, Hand Physics Lab, bHaptics Player, and more.

Commenting on the launch of the haptic glove, Kiuk Gwak, CEO of BHaptics, said: "We are committed to connecting people through haptic technology. The launch of TactGlove is a milestone that allows people to interact authentically not only with virtual objects, but also with friends and colleagues in VR/AR at an acceptable price. ”

The company said it will start issuing the TactGlove Developer Kit in the second quarter of 2022, followed by an official consumer version.
