In the movie "Eight Hundred", actor Song Yang played Zhang Baiting. Although this character is not the main character portrayed in the film, he has a very important influence on the entire Sihang Warehouse war later. Born in Pudong, Shanghai in 1910, Zhang Baiting was selected to study in Japan when he grew up, graduating from the Japanese Non-Commissioned Officer School.
After returning to China, Zhang Baiting did not forget his mission and took the initiative to join the army. Due to his strong military combat ability, he participated in many battles and was promoted all the way, and later served as the chief of staff of the 88th Division of Sun Yuanliang of the National Revolutionary Army. On October 26, 1937, the 88th Division retreated to the south bank of the Suzhou River. In 1949, Zhang Baiting came forward to organize the Taipei Pudong Hometown Association and was elected as the first chairman. He later left Taiwan and lived in the United States. After returning from the United States in 1985, Zhang Baiting unfortunately suffered a car accident on March 8 and died at the age of 75.
