Zhuhai's flower "Rhododendron" and Macao's symbol "Golden Lotus" are "blooming" together in Macao. On December 28th, the large-scale national symphony suite "Cuckoo and Golden Lotus", original by the Zhuhai National Orchestra, entered Macao for the first time, and nearly 600 Macao audiences shared the musical feast at the Macao Cultural Centre General Theatre.
The play "Cuckoo and golden lotus" is a masterpiece dedicated to the 22nd anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland and the establishment of the Hengqin Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone, which has been greatly guided by the Propaganda and Culture Department of the Macao Central Liaison Office and the Propaganda Department of the Zhuhai Municipal Party Committee of the Communist Party of China.
It vividly shows the unique geographical features of Zhuhai and Macao, and comprehensively tells the vivid story of the people of Zhuhai and Macao who have the same roots and the same lineage in culture, and under the guidance of the "one country, two systems" principle and in the process of comprehensively promoting the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, they are interdependent and integrated.
Interpret the harmonious music of the Zhu'ao family
At 20:00 on the same day, accompanied by the opening of the two hosts from Zhuhai and Macao, the concert kicked off with the majestic opening song "Tribute - 1999", and the epic and majestic melody fluttered in the Macao Cultural Centre General Theatre. Zhuhai National Orchestra and Zhuhai Song and Dance Troupe, together with the Xinghai Conservatory choir, Zhuhai Performing Arts Group Choir, and a number of Macao singers and performers, took the stage to show the harmony of rhododendrons and golden lotuses with the rhythm of Chinese folk music.
Just past December 20, Macao ushered in the important moment of the 22nd anniversary of its return to the motherland. "Rhododendron and Golden Lotus" takes the deep feelings of Zhuhai and Macao in the 22 years since Macao's return to the motherland in 1999 as the clue, takes the home and country feelings of the people of the two places as the core, and makes bold innovations in the form of music creation, the full suite is composed of 14 vocal suites and national orchestral music, through the perfect combination of national orchestra and chorus, to create an elegant and atmospheric national music masterpiece.
The full suite of "Rhododendron and Golden Lotus" has been completed since the opening overture "Praise - 1999", "Water Language", "Hehuan", "Flower Dream", "Green Shade", "Flying Rainbow", "Lotus Heart", "Harmony" and other sub-songs as promised, and the epilogue "Tribute - 2049" echoes with the opening chapter, with time clues running through the upper and lower levels, through the national music expression of large-scale ethnic symphony suites, expounding the interdependence of the people of Zhuhai and Macao in the context of the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and hengqin Guangdong-Macao in-depth cooperation zone, Enjoy the harmonious and beautiful music of the Zhuhai-Macao family.
"This is a concert jointly performed by musicians from Guangdong and Macao, and the repertoire has repeatedly depicted the imagery with distinct Zhuhai-Macao characteristics such as the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the Hengqin Campus of the University of Macau, and this concert is very close to the theme of Zhuhai-Macao integration, both in terms of content and form." Zhang Tianyu, director of the Zhuhai National Orchestra, said.
At the end of October, the play was once on the national art hall of the National Centre for the Performing Arts, and this time it premiered in Macao, and the organizers specially planned to launch a new original song "Ode to Macao", which reflects the successful practice of "one country, two systems" in Macao and fully expresses the confidence and determination of the Macao people to integrate into the overall development of the motherland. The song was composed by Macau lyricist Dolma for the performance, re-composed by the famous composer Meng Weidong, and specially invited Macao singers Xia Xianhai and Wang Xi to sing.
"This song adopts the form of male and female duets, the overall style is very atmospheric and elegant, and the melody is simple and easy to understand, which is easy for Macao listeners to accept." Wang Xi told reporters.
The repertoire was widely praised by Macao audiences
In order to create a fine product, the main creative team of "Rhododendron and Golden Lotus" specially invited Zhu Hai, a famous curator and writer, to compose lyrics; Meng Weidong, a famous composer and vice chairman of the Chinese Musicians Association; and Li Fubin, conductor, professor of composition and head of the Department of Chinese Music of Xinghai Conservatory of Music.
The performance was conducted by Li Fubin, conductor of Xinghai Conservatory of Music and chief conductor of Zhuhai National Orchestra, and Zhuhai National Orchestra also invited a number of Macao players to join the orchestra to share the deep feelings of Zhuhai and Macao, and joined hands with the Xinghai Conservatory of Music Choir and Zhuhai Performing Arts Group Choir to jointly perform, jointly bringing an audiovisual feast to Macao audiences.
At the concert, the performers and singers used their exquisite skills to interpret a melody that highlighted the national characteristics, and vividly expressed the charm of the 14 pieces. Their selfless performance also touched the heartstrings of every audience member on the scene. After 80 minutes of shocking performance, the concert came to a successful conclusion with the majestic music of "Tribute - 2049". The audience stood up one after another to give a warm applause, which reverberated for a long time in the Macao Cultural Centre General Theatre.
