Zhao Lijian said: First of all, I would like to tell you that there is no "Ministry of Foreign Affairs" in Taiwan, only the department in charge of foreign affairs in Taiwan Province. There is only one China in the world, Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory, and since its founding the Government of the People's Republic of China has been the sole legitimate government representing all of China, including Taiwan. According to the basic principles of international law, such as respect for national sovereignty and territorial integrity, the ownership of all of China's state property, whether within or overseas, should be vested in the government of the People's Republic of China. China's above-mentioned proposals have been widely recognized in many years of diplomatic practice.

Zhao Lijian said: The Chinese side highly appreciates the Nicaraguan Government's just move of respecting China's sovereignty and abiding by the one-China principle. The Taiwan authorities' attempt to use the transfer of Chinese state property to achieve ulterior motives is illegal and ineffective, and will never succeed.
