On December 24, the Winter Sports Management Center of the State General Administration of Sport held a media open day in the "Ice Arena" conference room. In an interview with the media, Liu Zhen, the leader of the China Alpine Skiing National Training Team, introduced the team's overseas participation and preparation.

Liu Zhen said that although the foundation of China's alpine skiing project is thin, under the encouragement of the Beijing Winter Olympics, the project has achieved leapfrog development. Among the 11 sub-events of alpine skiing at the Beijing Winter Olympics, the Chinese team has achieved the Olympic standard in 10 sub-events, which is a breakthrough in China's alpine skiing projects.
The road for the Chinese alpine ski team to qualify for the Beijing Winter Olympics has not been smooth. Liu Zhen said that after arriving in Austria on August 21 this year, the alpine ski team has undergone two months of glacier skiing training and participated in four INTERNATIONAL SNOW FEDERATION point races. Although several points races were cancelled due to weather conditions, the team still obtained the winter Olympic qualifications for women's downhill, all-around and men's all-around, and in addition to the qualifications previously obtained in China, the Chinese alpine ski team has won 10 minor qualifications for the Winter Olympics. "Next, we have to sprint with all our might to qualify for the women's super big slalom in the last event and achieve 'full-event participation'." Liu Zhen said.
