On December 24, Xiaomi Surging P1 self-developed fast charging chip was announced. Xiaomi said that in 2019, Xiaomi set fast charging as an important strategic direction, established four major research and development centers, and set up a TMG charging technology committee. In three years, it has applied for more than 800 patents for hundreds of millions of devices equipped with fast charging systems.
Xiaomi said that the Xiaomi surging P1 achieves a single-cell 120W wired second charge, filling the gap in the 120W single-cell fast charging industry.
As the industry's first resonant charging chip, the surging P1 plummeted heat loss by 30%. The chip undertakes a lot of conversion work, the forward 1:1 mode makes the bright screen charging efficiency higher, the forward 2:1 mode can be compatible with more chargers, the forward 4:1 can support 120W surging second charge, and the reverse 1:2/1:4 mode can support high-power reverse charging.
The upcoming Xiaomi Mi 12 Pro is the first smartphone to feature the Surging P1, which supports wired 120W surging second charge, 50W wireless second charge and 10W wireless reverse charging. Thanks to the high power design of the single cell, it meets the battery life of the whole day.
