I spent my whole life building ships in my dreams

All these years, I've only had one dream

In my dreams, I do only one thing

Shipbuilding, shipbuilding, shipbuilding

In order to make this dream beautiful

Again and again, I was sweating profusely

Wielding axes, saws, planers, hammers

- These sharp things

Now, I wake up. Tears in his eyes

In my dreams, I will always owe

A vast and soft sea

Poetry is life, welcome to the "Caotang Reading Poetry" jointly launched by Cover News, Chengdu Radio and Television Station and Caotang Poetry Magazine, I am the reader juanzi. What you just heard was Zhang Ergun's poem "I Use My Life to Build Ships in My Dreams." The post-80s poet Zhang Ergun, whose real name is Zhang Changchun, was born in Shanxi. He is the author of the poetry collection "Wilderness" and "Into the Forest", participated in the 31st Youth Poetry Conference, and won many domestic poetry awards.

Zhang Ergun's previous occupation can be said to have nothing to do with "poetry", he was a driller in the geological team. From the age of eighteen to enter the geological team, Zhang Ergun has been running in the lofty mountains and poor rural areas for many years. His youth, from the age of eighteen, was consumed in the mountains.

In those years, Zhang Ergun walked between the wild villages and wild shops, haunted the mountains and valleys, saw too many foolish and absurd things, and also witnessed the warmth and goodness of countless human beings. But all this, there is no one around to talk about. Finally, when he was about to turn 30, he began to hear and witness every day, through the clarity of his mind, and then fell on the paper. At first he wrote small essays, small diaries, and then he divided these words into poems. Poetry can be fast-forward and fast-out, single-handed, and does not require much time to conceive the causes and consequences, and Zhang Ergun is more accustomed to this style of creation. He had no intention of writing works with grand, esoteric themes, but rather heeded the call of the heart and the emotions that were triggered in the moment.

It is not easy for a person to slowly start writing when he is about to turn thirty and has been working for many years. But fortunately, Zhang Ergun already had enough experience, the courage not to be arrogant, and the strength to know how to take a step back from the sea and the sky. During the day he worked hard, and at night when he had time, he drank and wrote poetry. On such days, he did not feel bitter, but "felt that it was also very good, buried in the crowd, living without heart and lungs, occasionally writing, occasionally drunk, occasionally sad." ”

Many people think that the pen name "Er Stick" carries a rough rural folk style, which is a bit unusual. In fact, this is zhang Ergun when he was a child, the villagers gave him the "nickname", and later he was used to being called by the villagers, and he simply used it as a pen name. The name "Er stick" is original and vivid, and it is in line with Zhang Er stick's pursuit of poetry.

Some people say that Zhang Ergun's poetry, like the earth he stepped on, carries a thick and compassionate temperament. His poems, like a sharp knife, strike directly at reality, impact human nature, and reach the soul. After slowly entering middle age, Zhang Ergun's mentality of writing poetry has also changed. His early poetry was often derived from feelings, and now, with the sharp reduction of "violent atmosphere" in his youth, Zhang Ergun began to pay attention to the continuity, vastness and length of poetry.

He spent his life writing poetry and saw love and hope, compassion and redemption in his suffering.

Poetry is life, "grass hall reading poetry", there is temperature, there is texture. Zhang Ergun's poem "I Use My Life to Build Ships in My Dreams" and the poet's story will be shared with you here today, thank you for your attention, we will see you again in the next issue.
