In response to its xinjiang-related erroneous remarks, the US chip manufacturer Intel apologized on December 23. At noon on the 23rd, Intel issued a statement apologizing for the troubles caused to Chinese customers, partners and the public. Intel said that it respects the sensitivity of Xinjiang-related issues in China, and the original intention of publishing relevant remarks was to comply with US laws and make their expressions compliant and legal, not their intentions or positions.
On December 16, Intel sent a letter to suppliers on its official website in Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, English, Japanese, and other languages. The letter claimed that "many national and regional governments have imposed restrictions on products from the Xinjiang region." As a result, Intel needs to ensure that its supply chain "does not use any labor, procurement products or services from the Xinjiang region." In addition, intel also listed Taiwan as a country with Chinese mainland, the United States, and Singapore in the 2020 financial report. After Intel's relevant remarks were reported, they caused widespread doubts among Chinese netizens.

Yesterday, artist Wang Junkai issued a statement through the studio that it decided to terminate all partnerships with the Intel brand. It is worth mentioning that since 2015, Chinese mainland has become Intel's largest source of revenue in the world, and in 2020, the company's revenue from Chinese mainland and Hong Kong exceeded US$20.2 billion, about 129 billion yuan. Since the apology statement was issued, Intel's remarks about banning Xinjiang products have not been displayed on its official website.
