Renji Hospital was awarded the "National Standardized Pulmonary Vascular Disease Center of Excellence"

In order to promote the implementation of the Healthy China Strategy and improve the management capacity and clinical diagnosis and treatment level of pulmonary vascular diseases, on December 22, the "National Standardized Pulmonary Vascular Disease Center Construction Project Kick-off Meeting and Center of Excellence Awarding Ceremony" was held online. The first batch of national standardized pulmonary vascular disease centers (centers of excellence) were listed, and Renji Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine was listed among them, reflecting that the achievements of the hospital in the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary vascular diseases were recognized by the industry, and also marked that the hospital's technical level and clinical research capabilities in the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary vascular diseases ranked among the leading hospitals in the country. In addition, Professor Shen Jieyan, Chief Physician of the Department of Cardiology of Renji Hospital, was appointed as the director of the Pulmonary Vascular Disease Center of the National Cardiovascular Disease Management Capacity Assessment and Improvement Project (CDQI).

It is reported that the National Cardiovascular Disease Management Capacity Assessment and Improvement Project (CDQI) is jointly initiated by the National Health Commission Capacity Building and Continuing Education Center, the National Clinical Research Center for Cardiovascular Diseases and the Cardiovascular Disease Branch of the Chinese Medical Association. According to the scale of different centers, the strength of technical personnel, the level of medical teaching and research, the leading and guiding role of the region, etc., according to the CDQI National Standardized Cardiovascular Disease Center Construction and Evaluation Standard score of 1000 points, it is divided into centers of excellence (more than 850 points), demonstration centers (more than 700 points), and construction centers (less than 700 points), aiming to provide a complete clinical service capability improvement program through the construction of the National Standardized Cardiovascular Disease Center, and achieve the comprehensive development of clinical, scientific research, and talent training.

The multidisciplinary pulmonary vascular disease management team set up by Renji Hospital routinely carried out right heart catheterization and pulmonary hypertension outpatient clinics, optimized the diagnosis and treatment process in an all-round way, and effectively improved the standardized treatment rate of pulmonary hypertension. At the same time, through the holding of the "Voice of Pujiang" pulmonary vascular disease forum and other ways, it provides pulmonary vascular disease teaching, standardized treatment guidance, and cutting-edge knowledge sharing for hospitals at all levels within the medical association, and promotes the improvement of overall medical service capabilities.

Under the support of successive department leaders and the presidency of Shen Jieyan, the pulmonary vascular disease research group has been engaged in special research on pulmonary hypertension since the 1990s, from the exploration of the mechanism of pulmonary hypertension disease, early diagnosis and prognosis assessment, to the epidemiological research of pulmonary hypertension treatment methods and treatment drugs and subclasses of pulmonary hypertension, from clinical to basic re-clinical series of studies, has published more than 30 SCI papers, and the research results have been written into the "European Guidelines for Pulmonary Hypertension", "China Pulmonary Hypertension Guidelines", "Pulmonary Hypertension Guidelines", "Pulmonary Hypertension Guidelines" Chinese Pulmonary Embolism Guidelines" and other cardiovascular clinical guidelines and medical norms.

In the future, the Pulmonary Vascular Center of Renji Hospital will continue to optimize the treatment system and process, actively give full play to the advantages of multidisciplinary joint diagnosis and treatment mode and medical association collaboration, guide the construction of pulmonary vascular disease centers in other municipal units, and improve the regional cardiovascular and pulmonary disease treatment capacity and treatment level.
