Wu Yue | World Pulmonary Hypertension Day

5 May is the eleventh World Pulmonary Hypertension Day. According to Professor Wang Lan, deputy director and chief physician of the Department of Pulmonary Circulation of Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital, patients with pulmonary hypertension cannot be tired, let alone exercise vigorously, and they will feel breathing difficulties, chest tightness, chest pain, etc. when they are slightly active, because the body's ischemia and hypoxia will also cause the lips to be blue-purple, and patients with pulmonary hypertension are also known as "blue-lipped people". In addition, specific pulmonary hypertension is a class of pulmonary vascular diseases characterized by progressive elevation of pulmonary vascular resistance without a clear cause. Its incidence is low, it is a rare disease, and it is difficult to diagnose and treat.

It is understood that idiopathic pulmonary hypertension was included in the "First Rare Disease Catalogue" jointly formulated by the National Health Commission and other 5 departments in 2018. Professor Wang Lan said: "Life-threatening diseases cannot be ignored for a moment! ”
