However, there are also some special places in the Fujian dialect, although there are many Min dialects, there are only a wide range of Mindong languages and Minxi languages, and a small county has a sound. But they have one thing in common, most of the Min dialects do not call men men, nor do they call women women! Instead, men are called "Tang people" and women are called "women of the ladies".

Why?
There are several theories for men to call them "Tangbu people", some say "Tang Supplementary People", and some say "Tang Xi people". Although Mandarin pronunciation is different, in most Min dialects, the pronunciation of these words is the same. Why do Fujian people call men that?
There are several ways to say it:
One theory is that during the Warring States period, the Yue state was destroyed by the Chu state, and the remnants of the Yue state successively entered Fujian, and at that time, none of the descendants of the Yue king Gou Jian established the Min Yue state in Fujian. Later, the country was also recognized by Liu Bang, the ancestor of Han Gao, and later during the period of Emperor Wu of Han, Yu Shan, the king of the State of Minyue, rebelled and called himself "Emperor Wu of Eastern Yue", and Emperor Wu of Han sent Zhu Maichen to lead an army to fight and destroy the State of Minyue. Because most of the soldiers led by Zhu Maichen were the Tao Tang clan of Shanxi, that is, yao's tribe, so these soldiers were also called "Tao Tang Soldiers", after the destruction of the Minyue State, in order to stabilize the rule, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty forced all the local men of the Minyue State to move north to the Yangtze River Huai River, and the women who remained were distributed to these soldiers, so these "Tao Tang Soldiers" were called "Tang People" by the women.

There is also a saying, according to legend, in the five dynasties and ten kingdoms, the south was more chaotic, at that time there was a country in Fujian, called the State of Min, when the annexation war often occurred, the State of Min was invaded by the Southern Tang at that time (that is, the Southern Tang of the Southern Tang Dynasty lord Li Yu), during the war, the men of the State of Min were sharply reduced, and later the State of Min was destroyed by the Southern Tang, so the Southern Tang people moved to Mindi in large numbers, and the Min people called these people from the Southern Tang "Tang Supplementary People", which means the men supplemented by the Southern Tang, or "Tang People" (people under the Tang Bing).
Another theory is that the Tang Dynasty of the "Tang Dynasty" is not the Southern Tang Dynasty, but the Tang Dynasty. Because after the Anshi Rebellion during the Tang Dynasty, China's economic center began to move south, and Fujian was also developed on a large scale during the Tang Dynasty. During the Anshi Rebellion, a large number of northern Han Chinese emigrated to Fujian and intermarried with local women. The Tang Dynasty people were gentle and elegant, and the local women were willing to marry them, and they also hoped that their children would be like the Tang Dynasty, so they called the boys "Tang people".
Of course, there is also another theory, saying that Fujian people do not call men "Tangbu people", but "Changxu people". Tangbu and Changxuan are homophonous in Fujian dialect, and "晡" means night, "Changxuan", which means to stay together at home at night and night.
On why women are called "ladies". There are also several different ways of saying it:
The first theory is the same as the first theory of the "Tang people" mentioned above, that the descendants of the Yue King Gou Jian established the Min Yue Kingdom in the territory of present-day Fujian, because the king was called Wu Zhu, so the Min Yue State was also called "Wu Zhu Guo". Later, Zhu Maichen destroyed the Minyue Kingdom, and the local men were expelled as many as possible, and the remaining women were distributed to the Han soldiers, so the Han soldiers called these women "Zhu Niang".
The second theory is that "zhu niang" is actually "pearl niang". The Chronicle of Fuzhou in the Qianlong Period describes the Fuzhou dialect as follows: "A woman is known as a woman: Zhu Niang." "The Min Xiao Ji also records: 'Fuzhou Hu Woman Yue Zhu Niang.'" As for why a woman is called a "pearl lady", Ren Fang's "Narrative of Differences" explains: "The more common is to take pearls as the upper treasure, and the birth daughter is called the pearl lady." This means that the custom of Yuedi is to take pearls as treasures, which is the same as the pearls in the palm of the mainland, so the birth of a daughter is called "pearl lady".
In addition to the above two more popular statements, there is also a not very accepted statement, that is, in fact, Fujian people call women not "Zhu Niang" or "Zhu Niang", but "Jin Renzi". This is because during the Period of the Five Hu and Sixteen Kingdoms, the Han people in the Central Plains moved south for the first time, and the Jin people in the north entered the Fujian region for the first time. At that time, Fujian was still an uncivilized area, and the Min people saw the dignified and quiet women in the north for the first time, and they were amazed, thinking that women should be as beautiful as the Jin people. Therefore, the girl is called "Jin Renzi", which means that she was born as beautiful as a Woman of the Jin Dynasty.
