Homo sapiens came out of Africa 70,000 years ago and spread around the world, gradually forming differences between races, the most obvious of which is skin color. But the distinction between this skin color may be about to become a thing of the past, and racism may be coming to an end. Dr. Scott Solomon, a prominent biologist at Rice University in Houston, has found that global warming will trigger large-scale population migrations, and as genes continue to merge between populations, human skin color and body may tend to be similar within 125 years, and the soil of racism will no longer exist.
According to the United Nations' 2017 International Migration Report, a total of 258 million people now live outside their country of birth, a 49 percent increase from 2000. A World Bank report released earlier this year said that by 2050, 143 million people will be forcibly displaced for climate reasons, becoming "climate migrants" in the new century. These include 86 million in sub-Saharan Africa, 40 million in South Asia and 17 million in Latin America.
That's because over the next 30 years, global warming will lead to rising sea levels, intensifying extreme climates, and these areas will become increasingly arid, eventually crop failures, environmental degradation, and people will have to join the fleeing refugee flows.
Dr. Solomon said these migrations would break down geographical barriers to population separation, allowing human genes to flow and rapid evolution due to genetic mixing between populations. Since human skin color is controlled by many genes, parents with different skin tones tend to give birth to children with neutral skin tones, so after 5 to 10 generations (125 to 250 years), there will be fewer and fewer people with darker or paler skin on the planet, and more and more brown or olive skin tones, while people with dark skin and light eyes will become more and more common.
As a reference, the number of multiracial births in the United States has risen from 1 percent in 1970 to 10 percent in 2013, and it is expected that this will increase more in the future, with the multiracial population increasing by 174 percent in 40 years.
In fact, with the entry of human beings into the information society, the strong development of the economy, the increasingly convenient transportation, the earth has become smaller and smaller, the population migration is becoming more and more frequent, interracial marriage between different races is becoming more and more common, the integration of human race, language and culture is inevitable, and the world after 125 years is not what we can imagine at all. It may still have some meaning for us, but it doesn't mean anything to future people at all, because it is no longer something they can choose.
