Spanish tennis star Rafael Nadal confirmed in a social media statement on December 20 that he tested positive for the new crown virus.

Nadal said in a statement that when he returned to Spain from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, he tested positive for the new coronavirus nucleic acid test after entering the country. Previously, during his tournament in Abu Dhabi, Nadal tested negative for COVID-19. Nadal is currently in home isolation and has informed all those with whom he or she has been in close contact with the results.
