U19 European Youth Championship: Italy 1-0 Portugal win their first title in 20 years! This summer's 5 finals were finally won
On July 17, Beijing time, the final of the U19 European Youth Championship, Italy won the championship 1-0 against Portugal! With Cayode's goal in the first half, Italy U19 beat Portugal U19 1-0 to win the title for the first time in 20 years.
The two teams met in the group stage, when Portugal won 5-1. In the 19th minute, Fiorentina's 19-year-old rising star Cayode scored the only goal of the game to help Italy avenge 1-0 and win the championship!
It was Italy's fourth time winning the U19 European Youth Championship and the first time in 20 years that Portugal had equalled Portugal's number of titles. The most won titles were England and Spain, both 11 times.
It is worth mentioning that this summer, the Italian team has reached the final five times, Fiorentina, Roma, Inter won the Europa League, Europa League and Champions League runners-up respectively, Italy U20 also lost the World Youth Championship final, but the U19 boys finally achieved the top.
