Spotify (SPOT.US) announced the acquisition of Australian podcast technology platform whoooshkaa, which provides a cost-effective, end-to-end platform for independent creators, publishers, broadcasters and brands to host, distribute, monetize and track on-demand audio, according to Sina Financial News.
Whoooshkaa provides a specialized tool for content creators to simply convert existing audio content into on-demand podcast content. As part of the acquisition, Spotify plans to soon integrate the technology into the Megaphone suite.
In November 2020, Spotify spent $235 million to acquire megaphone, a podcast advertising/publishing platform, from Graham Holdings.
