Sanxingdui Sands Joint Application strengthens site value research for heritage application

At the stage of expert speech, Professor Tang Jigen of the Sociology Center of Southern University of Science and Technology mentioned in his speech that the joint application of Sanxingdui and Jinsha should pay special attention to the study of its value, which is particularly important for the success of the application.

Tang Jigen said that the application for heritage work is not only to see if you have important cultural relics on display, such as bronze standing people, sacred trees, and golden masks. It also depends on the value of a site and what research you have to do, which is a particularly important factor.

"In various parts of the world, the great sites are dependent on large rivers, such as the Nile River in Egypt, such as the Yellow River in China, and now the joint application for Sanxingdui Jinsha is that we rely on the Yangtze River, so on top of this idea, we still have to do some consideration." Tang Jigen said that it is necessary to do some research on the combined value in combination with the specific environment such as the Sichuan Basin, to fully excavate the uniqueness of the Sanxingdui and Jinsha sites, to fully display the research value, and to do a good job in the protection and rectification of the site.
