Ministry of Culture and Tourism: Continue to promote the construction of key villages and towns in rural tourism

Fuzhou, 17 Dec (Xinhua) -- On 17 December, the national rural tourism work site meeting was held in Yongding District, Longyan City, Fujian Province. At the meeting, it was proposed that during the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan" period, it is necessary to continue to promote the construction of key villages and towns in rural tourism, and to link and coordinate the development of rural tourism with policies and measures in various fields of rural areas, promote the development of rural tourism, and serve the overall situation of "three rural areas" and economic development.

Hu Heping, secretary of the party group and minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, said at the meeting that in recent years, the cultural and tourism system has vigorously promoted the development of rural tourism, cultivated a number of rural tourism destinations with ecological beauty, production beauty and life beauty, and created a number of rural tourism boutique routes with characteristics, connotation and taste, attracting more tourists to choose rural tourism, experience rural tourism, and fall in love with rural tourism. At present, the 1199 national rural tourism key villages and 100 national rural tourism key towns (townships) launched by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the National Development and Reform Commission have become influential brands in the field of rural tourism, which have been widely concerned by the industry and society, and the demonstration and leading role has initially emerged.

Hu Heping stressed at the meeting that in the next step, the cultural and tourism system should stand at the height of comprehensively promoting rural revitalization, solidly promoting common prosperity and building a new development pattern, continue to promote the construction of key villages and towns in rural tourism, guide the healthy and sustainable development of country houses, optimize the supply of rural tourism products, promote the development of the whole industrial chain of rural tourism, strengthen the construction of rural tourism infrastructure, strengthen the support of rural tourism talents, and promote the high-quality development of rural tourism.

During the meeting, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism awarded medals to some of the representatives of the 100 first batch of national rural tourism key towns (townships). Representatives of key rural tourism villages and towns in Fujian, Anhui, Guizhou, Hebei and other places, as well as cultural and tourism systems, made exchange speeches. The delegates also inspected Nanjiang Village, Hongkeng Village, and other key rural tourism villages in Hukeng Town, Yongding District.
