Vardy on investing in U.S. teams: It won't be distracting, and I'll continue to help the Blue Foxes move forward

Live Bar Dec. 17 - Vardy became a shareholder of U.S. soccer club Rochester New York FC this summer, buying a minority stake and reinventing the team.

The club will return to professional football next season and will join the newly formed MLS Next Pro league and appoint Bruno Baltazar as the new manager, the Portuguese coach who worked as an assistant coach at Nottingham Forest as Sabri Lamune.

Commenting on the appointment, Vardy said: "As a team, we were very impressed with Bruno's statement, he outlined his coaching philosophy, something that is consistent with the club's vision and the style of play. ”

After confirming his appointment as Rochester manager, Baltazar wrote on Instagram that he was "very proud and delighted to sign with Rochester FC." I want to thank David and Wendy Dworkin, Vardy, john Morris and Lee Tucker of @wassermanfootball for their trust in me. I can't wait to go to Rochester to start my MLS journey, to meet my club colleagues and fans, I don't believe it's possible. ”

Another former Nottingham Forest behind-the-scenes staff member, Gilerme Ramos, will serve as Baltazar's assistant coach at Rochester.

Vardy said: "I am also very grateful to Leicester City, they know, and I know that this project will not distract me in any way and I will help Leicester City to continue to be successful for many years to come." ”
