On December 16th and 17th, the large-scale original musical "Dragonfly Eyes" was successfully premiered at the Oct Grand Theatre in Chengdu, Sichuan, and more than 1,600 people from all walks of life shared the art feast.
The Red Star News reporter learned that the play takes the Southern Silk Road as the background, starts from the highly representative excavated cultural relics "Dragonfly Eyes", organically integrates the archaeological research results with artistic creation, and creates a narrative epic original musical.

The musical "Dragonfly Eyes" was inspired by the Spring and Autumn Dragonfly Eye necklace excavated in Chengdu's Qingbaijiang District during the Spring and Autumn Warring States Period, and the "Dragonfly Eye" is a decorative round glass bead shaped like a dragonfly compound eye. The excavation of the "Dragonfly Eye" not only confirms that the ancient Shu ancestors have communicated with the civilization of the Western Regions as early as a thousand years ago, but also serves as a historical and cultural symbol.
The main creative team of the play gathers outstanding drama talents from all over the country: Ma Dongfeng, a national first-class director, is the artistic director, Dong Yufang, a famous screenwriter in Sichuan, is the screenwriter, Qi Yu, a young director of the Sichuan People's Art Theater Choreography Center, and Liu Dangqing, a first-class composer, is the music director.
The music creation of "Dragonfly Eyes" continues the development of the Silk Road, from Sichuan folk songs to music with Western characteristics, which are cleverly collided and blended in the play.
