Honda Aircraft Company (HACI), Honda's aircraft subsidiary, has announced the successful delivery of the 200th ultralight business jet, hondajet, another important milestone.
HondaJet was independently developed by HACI and features an ingenious design such as the wing-mounted engine branch architecture (OTWEM), natural laminar flow technology, and one-piece composite fuselage. In December 2015, the HondaJet received Model Approval from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), after which the first HondaJet was delivered to customers. In May 2018, HACI launched an upgraded version, the HondaJet Elite, which increased range to 1,437 nautical miles (2,661 km) and upgraded avionics systems and interior design. In May 2021, HACI completed a number of performance improvements on this basis, introducing a new generation of HondaJet Elite S, including an increase in the maximum take-off weight of 200 pounds (about 91 kg) and optimization of avionics systems to improve pilot operational efficiency and aircraft safety performance.
