Is Sanxingdui really that mysterious? Knowing this bit of geography, everything became natural

Sanxingdui ancient ruins are located on the south bank of the Yazi River in the northwest of Guanghan City, Sichuan Province, with a distribution area of 12 square kilometers, with a history of 5,000 to 3,000 years, and are the largest, longest-lasting and most culturally rich ancient city, ancient kingdom and ancient Shu cultural sites found in the southwest region so far. The best-preserved east, west and south walls and the inner walls of Moon Bay are available. The Sanxingdui site is known as one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of mankind in the 20th century, showing that the Yangtze River Basin, like the Yellow River Basin, belongs to the matrix of Chinese civilization and is known as the "source of Yangtze River civilization".

Since its discovery, this site has been accompanied by many stories, legends and beautiful imaginations, and some even claim that it may change our traditional understanding of Chinese history. Is this really the case? Is there really such a mystery? We believe that it is only geographical factors that have created all this.

We analyze that there may be a "mountain turning movement" in the history of Chinese civilization. When we open the topographic map of China, it is not difficult to find that the Himalayas, Kunlun Mountains and Qilian Mountains are like road signs and skeletons of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, they are southeast, in this position of the Hengduan Mountains, they are close to the Sichuan Basin, and from the Sichuan Basin to the south are the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and the Liangguang Hills. From the Tarim Basin into the Hexi Corridor to the east into the Yellow River Basin, or from the Tarim Basin into the Inner Mongolia Plateau, and even the Northeast Plain. It then moved south near the Yellow River Basin. The latter created the Yangshao culture between Gansu Province and Henan Province in the Yellow River Basin, which is about 7,000 to 5,000 years old, forming the zhengyuan culture of what we call the Chinese nation today. But the former is not inaction.

There is such a saying on the Internet that Sanxingdui is a thunderclap of Chinese civilization, its culture can be traced back to 4600 years, continued to 3000 years ago, and historiography recognizes it as a splendid ancient civilization of bronzes, cities, written symbols and large ceremonial buildings. In the Central Plains at the same time, there was no such rich cultural accumulation, or the era of nonsense legends. The oracle bone is as far as 3500 years, the tomb of the woman is 3200 years, the stepmother Peng Da Fangding is 3200 years, and the Mao Gongding is 2800 years. The level of manufacture of bronzes in Sanxingdui was higher than that of the Central Plains region of the same era, and it is likely that the casting process of the Central Plains was more influenced by the spread of Sanxingdui than the other way around.

Let's not say whether this statement is right or wrong, but it is certain at one point, from the Himalayas and Kunlun Mountains to the Sichuan Basin and the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, the ancestors along the way clearly found the rich storage place of China's copper metal at that time - the Great Southwest, which led to advanced and developed copper casting technology. This is geographical common sense, if there is no copper, where can there be so many rich statues? This is also the result of what we call the "mountain turning movement". There are a large number of bronze statues and various animal statues in the ruins of Sanxingdui, and the bronze smelting technology is developed, of course, it is the result of copper resources, and China's copper deposits are only the richest in the southwest.

The sanxingdui culture began no earlier than the establishment of the Shang Dynasty. Archaeologists have concluded that although the ancestors of Sanxingdui came to live in Sanxingdui as early as 4800 years ago, they only developed their own characteristic culture about 4100 years ago, and then began to build the city wall, and it was not until about 3300-3000 that bronzes were cast. Therefore, the so-called "Sanxingdui culture is older than the Central Plains culture" and "Sanxingdui bronze is earlier than the Central Plains time" this kind of nonsense can be thrown into the trash can.

The fact is: Sanxingdui 2000 years of history, most of the time is very primitive, and later learned from the Central Plains the characteristics of the "Erlitou culture" pottery skills, and then learned bronze techniques from the Central Plains before the demise, when Sanxingdui had bronzes, the Shang Dynasty was about to perish, and the Central Plains had mastered bronze techniques for about 700 years. The reason why many netizens have hyped up the Sanxingdui site is that they have no understanding of history.

The Pamir Plateau is known as the origin of human civilization, in ancient legends, the Chinese civilization is from the Kunlun Mountains in the west, and the legend of ancient Indian civilization is also from the northern plateau. The earliest Sumerian civilization of the Four Great Civilizations, in its records, is called the Blackhead, claiming to be from the East. In the carvings and frescoes of ancient Egypt, black hair and facial features are not as deep as those of Westerners, but more inclined to Orientals, perhaps related to Sumerian civilization. In this way, the eastern part of the Two Rivers Valley, the western mountains of China, and the northern plateau of the Indus River Basin are clearly the Pamir Plateau.

We therefore make the assumption that the ancestors of the Tibetan and Han ethnic groups had a "break-up" in the Pamir Plateau, and that the Ancestors of the Tibetans and their ancestors followed what we call the "Mountain Turning Movement" all the way to the southwest, developing and brilliant bronze techniques while obtaining copper resources. The ancestors of the Han people who came to the Central Plains created a splendid Neolithic faience culture due to the scarcity of copper resources. Because Sichuan was relatively closed to the outside world in ancient times and did not have much exchange, the Sanxingdui culture, which lived in a corner, did not have more cultural exchanges with the Central Plains, which naturally appeared to be quite different. However, it is impossible to communicate completely, for example, the origin of the Sanxingdui culture was greatly influenced by the Central Plains culture, using part of the central plains bronze and pottery, and also influenced by the etiquette of the Central Plains culture.

In addition, on the question of some people saying that the Sanxingdui culture disappeared out of thin air, expert glue also gave a professional answer, that is, Yi experts and scholars conducted field investigations in Sanxingdui and Jinsha sites in stages and batches, and found that some of the pictures and birds of the Sanxingdui culture were ancient Yi, and the pictures were the same as the yi Bimo's magic tools. In the end, everyone agreed that the cultural relics of Sanxingdui and the bird text of the Jinsha site were ancient Yi texts, and some of the pictures were Yi Bimo's magic tools. Even, Golong Ahong's thesis "Sanxingdui and Guyi Civilization" said: "The Shu Basin of Cuba is another base camp for the ancestors of the Yi people, The Ancient Yi people, with fertile land, rich economy and developed culture. The Sanxingdui site is undoubtedly a cultural relic of the Ancient Yi people of the Yi ancestors. (Sichuan Yi Studies 3, December 2016)

Therefore, we believe that there should also be a stop to the unrestricted false blowing of sanxingdui culture. We do not think that the Sanxingdui civilization originated in the West, nor do we agree with the large number of sacrificial items unearthed in the Sanxingdui ruins, which are very close to the ancient Maya and ancient Egyptian culture in terms of shape and style - a civilization cannot fall from the sky, nor can it disappear out of thin air.
