Michael: If Italy fails to qualify for the World Cup, Chiellini may retire

According to the Italian media "Milan Sport", if Italy does not qualify for next year's World Cup, Chiellini may retire.

Italy, which finished second in the group in the World Cup European Qualifiers and failed to qualify directly to the finals, will play in the play-offs, with Mancini's side taking on North Macedonia in the semi-finals of the play-offs, which could take on Turkey or Portugal.

According to The Milan Sports Newspaper, Chiellini (whose contract expires in 2023) will decide next summer whether to play another season, with the national team and Juve captain likely to retire if Italy fails to qualify for the World Cup.
