Recently, at the 11th Chinese jade carving "Lu Zigang Cup" held in Suzhou, Tang Yuanhong, the inheritor of Neijiang Weiyuan's "Ask Stone Pretty Carving", won the gold medal of this competition with his jade carving work "Chinese Shen Yun"!
Tang Yuanhong, a native of Hongxing Village, Yanling Town, Weiyuan County, Neijiang City, learned folk clay sculpture at the age of 16, and later entered the jade carving industry to study, and has more than 20 years of practice and exploration of carving art.
The entry "Chinese Shen Yun", which took a year to complete, uses hetian jade seed materials of different shapes and sizes as raw materials, takes advantage of the differences in the skin color and shape of the seed materials, uses excavated cultural relics as reference materials, and then borrows the exquisite and rich ornaments of ancient utensils for creation.
Tang Yuanhong observed the shape of the rough seed material and repeatedly studied it to find the best fit. When he carved each piece of jade, he not only retained the original characteristics of the jade, but also combined the shape of the jade and the utensils, so that it was determined by the type and the form and god were one. The carved vessels in this way are creative, with both the warmth of jade and the texture of craftsmanship.
